Your DVD player should connect to your TV, not the DISH DVR. Is the Yamaha some sort of receiver or something similar? If so, it should plug into the TV as well. The DVR just provides a signal to your TV, just like the other two components. On the back of your TV there should be other connections to plug into like HDMI1, HDMI2, AUX1, etc. You select which input you want to view using your TV remote. For example, if you were watching a DVD, you turn on the DVD player. Say it was plugged into AV1 or something similar on the back of the TV. With your TV remote, select which input you are using...that way your TV receives the signal from your DVD player and nothing else.

disconnect all speakers and inputs and try again. If it stays on, you have a short in one of the connections. Try adding them one at a time and see if it shuts off.If it overloads with nothing connected, you have an internal problem.

Look on line for service manual. Display problem is usually traced to 1, or more, of 3 resistors in the AC supply to the display. It appears that the resistors are supposed to be 1/2 watt but the one I removed from my unit was only 1/4 watt. The resistors are mounted on a small board mounted on the front side of the main transformer - right most board. I had to unscrew the transformer to access the resistor. I looked at voltages coming out of the transformer and the the same voltages leaving the circuit board. There is a 1 Ohm, a .47 Ohm and another that supply AC voltage to different parts of the display. I found one resistor open. Replaced it and I now have an operating unit.

I have the same problem, anyone slove it?

I don't have a fix but I think the general explanation that could explain both issues would be that the memory for your settings isn't being retained. Check to see if the digital audio source you're having trouble hearing still has its input assigned to it. I'm thinking all your settings go back to 'factory' when you turn it off.

You COULD also try a forced microcomputer reset once just to see if that resolves the issue (same page).

Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the
speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Check for loose speaker connections at the speaker as a root cause for intermittent shutdown.

The only vital connection is a simple composite cable or whatever your unidentified TV requires. The TV has a manual, too, somewhere.

I personally would not bother routing any video from external sources through the receiver as no signal will benefit from the extra cables and connections.

according to the reviews Ive read on this receiver, your right, they have a major heat problem in the output transistors,, the heat sink isn't large enough to keep them from going out or they aren't large enough to handle the power, people have even tried adding a computer fan to the area of the transistors with no good results

Could be anything from dry joints to component failure. There is not one person on this earth who can put a finger up in the air and categorically state precisely and unequiivocally what is wrong here............unless they hoe into it's innermost parts in order to find out. Take it to your local E-Tech ...if there are any still surviving in your neck of the woods.

Try disconnecting all the speakers and see if it does the same thing. If it doesn't, connect speakers again one at a time to find out which one of them is doing it. Make sure the speakers rating match the output of the amp.
