hello there. firstly im not very good with toy cars so excuse me if i get things slightly wrong has the car been dissasembled at all? or had the wiring changed? also does the vehicle have a PCB or is it all indevidually wired? i would personally dissasemble the car and remove the control circuit board (if it has one) and inspect it for corrosion or rust, next dose the board in White vinegar and leave to rest it will remove any corrosion on the components (scrub it with an old toothbrush if possible) also if it has connectors of some sort i would spray them with WD40 contact cleaner. lastly also spray contact cleaner into the Gear switch as that might be causing the issues...Good Luck!
