You should call your local service rep. Any standard UPS will fail on Bypass, as the system is designed that way. Some systems when running will revert to inverter from Bypass but not many. They usually have an "Economy Mode" setting. Some UPS systems require a soft or hard reset after any service Involving loss of all power to the electronics, this may be the problem, but it is more likely there is an inverter fault. Direct current will always run even if batteries are dead. Batteries only kick in during a real outage. Is this what you are referring to?

Your problem is showing up under the Powerware 9305 (a very large UPS) but your comments are about the 3105. It sounds like your battery is dead. Sounds like it is not regulating the voltage and current charging the batteries. Consult a service manual to look for a repair method.

It either means the ground wire in extension cord is not there or is open. It could also mean that the outlet wasn't wired with a ground back to the panel.
