We have the same problem and purchased a power supply to see if it would fix the problem. It didn't. We are now in the process of buying the main logic board and we will let you know if this fixes the problem. It seems like it is in sleep mode but doing the steps to get the tv out of sleep mode does not work.

That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..

Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..

1. Open the back cover of your TV.
2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..
3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..
5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter

Please connect the audio out to an amplifier and see if there is any audio signal, if not use an external signal to the audio input to confirm if the TV's audio output is working- switch on the AUX or the line in . If there is output then the amp is working. If so the fault is within the audio detection section the SIF or the preamp section.
You need to have a signal tracing or a signal injection method to find the loss or the faulty component.

There is no reset button on these new sets,your set has complete power problem since you have no lights no clicks,this might have happen because of lightning or power surge,either one creates a lot of damage,if you are familiar with tv service you can check the main fuse,he should be close to where the power cord comes in,if you find the fuse blown it needs to be replaced with an exact replacement for AMPS rating and VOLTS rating as well as size,if the fuse is blown black we might have more problems ahead in the circuit and it will blow up again as sonn as you plug the tv back in,if it blows again it will need a more involved repair,the problem could be in the primary side of the power supply,if you are not too familiar you should seek the help of a servicer a least for an estimate but if you suspect power surge or lighting damage dont invest any more on this set and get a new one.

First make sure that the sound is not in "mute" mode.

Plug your headset to the earphone jack(if installed) of the TV.

If you can hear the sound there, the fault may due to open(defective) internal speakers or the earphone jack itself. Faulty internal speaker may replaced with new sets to back your sound to normal again. If the earphone jack was faulty, you may spray it first with electrical contact cleanerwhile inserting and pulling the headset plug into it for one minute to clean the contact. If nothing happens, this jack need to replaced with new one.

If you can't hear the sound after inserting your headset, this is an indication that the audio circuitry was gone bad. The most common caused of this trouble was the faulty sound IC(mounted in heatsink). This is the one converts the audio signal to sound and feed to your speaker's. I would advice you to look for a qualified technician to check this parts.

i have vizio that turn on, but no picture, and the invarter light is on and it won`t turn off.

Well i have the same tv , and when i took it apart i switched a few wires around and i managed to get it working again, i can send some pictures of what i did because, i really had no clue what i exactly did by switching the wires.

Now,tv turn on have flashes picture few sec.dies and stiill have sound?Yes,than 1 or 2 a long LCD inverter boards are dead. Those 1 or 2 long LCD inverter boards help the LCD screen to have a backlight to produced a picture.No picture or sound at all?The Tuner board is dead,that the board,where the incomming broscasting signal cable plug into it dead.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy those 1 or 2 long refurbishes LCD inverter boards or the Tunner board for the replacement.

refer to the troubleshooting on p.78 of the service manual and you can narrow down the problem with your tv. If your not planning on repairing it yourself locate a repair professional near you. Here is a link to the manual:

okay. it seems there is something wrong with the lamp in your tv. i would suggest getting it serviced by visio, bestbuy, etc. Reply with the results and vote. (the lamp is the brightness and there may be something with your power supply in the tv too. get it serviced.)
