For Casio watches, the number on the back is the module number. For ROLEX I have no idea. Never saw one in my life.

There are tiny pins either side of the wrist band next to the clasp. Remove these pins and you can take out up to two links (and a half link on some models.)
A jeweller could do it, needs a special tool to tap them out and put them back

If it is a true Rolex they require a special wrench that grips the tiny serrations around the base of the back. You will need to take it to a watch repairman, the tool is very costly.

Tip

How to manage your SUBMARINER's size to fit your wrist

Take of your ROLEX, look on the inside of the bracelet. Near the area where you have the crown, there is a miniature circle, push with your thumb on it with strenght, you will hear a click . You pull your bracelet , it will open, then you look on the sides of the bracelet, and you insert a needle into the little screws on both sides, and then you choose the size you wish for your watch , and then put the circle back and close everything again.

Thank you for contacting FixYa.
  • Look at the side of your watchcase. On the watchcase lugs, located where the watch bracelet is attached, you may see one small hole on each lug where the spring bar is located. This means your Rolex has the traditional pierced lug style. If your Rolex does not have the pierced lug style, turn the watch over, and look for the long spring bar in the space where the bracelet meets the watchcase. The spring bar attaches the bracelet to the watchcase. The directions for removing the spring bar on both watch styles is slightly different.

Use your thumb to press down on the link where the band meets the watchcase if your Rolex has the pierced lug style.. If your Rolex does not have pierced lugs, turn the Rolex over, and press down on the link where the band meets the case. Either way, you are applying gentle pressure to the same link, just different sides of it. Remember, you are only removing the side of the band at the bottom of the watch, so press on the link below the 6. Maintain gentle pressure on the link while performing the next step.

Insert the tip of your spring bar tool into the lug holes, and push the spring bar inward. When done correctly, you will feel the spring bar fall into the case, rather than pop back out. Repeat this step on the other side of the spring bar.

For a nonpierced lug watch, place the tip of your spring bar tool on one edge of the spring bar, and push inward, until the spring bar falls into the case. Repeat this step on the other side of the spring bar.

Pull the band gently away from the watchcase. It should remove easily. You can now see the serial number on the watchcase.

  • The reference or model number of a Rolex is located between the lugs at the 12' position. It is also listed on the certificates Rolex issues.

    Hope this helps. Jewel

Doubtful. if you bought it cheaply. A jeweller will be able to tell. There are many authentic looking knockoffs. :-)

If it is real, of course, $5,000 to $6,000. They are $10K new! whether it is real is another matter. Mine is $125 and Chinese with Chinese movement. Good fakes have a Swiss movement and are $1,800 new. This is the best video on spotting fakes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_ZTqC2Yxxs Videos specifically on yours https://www.google.ca/search?source=hp&ei=OhD8XN_pKM7m5gLds6DAAg&q=spotting+fake+rolex+oyster+perpetual

If you have to ask and you didn't pay anywhere the $10,400 price tag it is a fake. cheap one are made in China and cost$150. Ones with Swiss movement are $1,800.

This is the best video. Yours is fake, it doesn't have the engraving on the inner bevel.
