Janome 6260QC Computerized Sewing Machine - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Janome 6260 after running for about 1 hour will start to sew erratically, then stall with LO message. Will not wind bobbin when this message is displayed. Bobbins wind loosely and unevenly.
Here's Janome LO error;
LO: Replace the foot controller.
- Check for a tight or stuck clutch by the hand wheel.
- The machine may be jammed. Remove the timing belt to locate whether the bind is on the upper shaft or lower shaft. If it is the upper shaft, there may be thread caught in the take-up lever or crank pin. If the lower shaft is binding, check hook clearance, hook backlash. Check the lower shaft rear bushing for any black 'gunk'. If there is, replace the lower shaft and rear bushing.
- Clean the sensor on the DC motor and check if the shield plate on the motor is not loose or hitting the sensor. If either the sensor or shield plate is damaged, replace the motor.
- Check the upper shaft sensor. Make sure the shield plate is going perfectly thru the middle of the sensor. Replace the sensor and/or shield plate if damaged.
- If you still get the error, replace the DC Motor or upper shaft sensor (in this order).
My first thought is if you're running nearly non-stop for an hour the motor is overheating. Not sure what the maintenance schedule is for this machine <?>. May need a good cleaning/lube. Then foot pedal, then other.
I have a Janome 6260. My machine sewed great, but
I've had the Lo come on my screen of my sewing machine also, but normally when I turned it off it corrected the jam up.
Lo- A button is pressed when the machine halts due to a overload
wait 15 seconds to recover
if thread jamming causes the overload, remove the tangled thread
check the bobbin area for lint & loose threads
also check to see if the bobbin is warped
check you needle to see if it's bent-roll on a flat surface to see if it rolls correctly
if it's blunt it makes a popping sound when going thru fabric
let me know if these suggestions help
How to reset

My janome is possessed
Contact your local Catholic church and request an exorcism..... or give us better information on why you think it's possessed :\
Jamming or timing at bobbin
The bobbin case should be loose enough to wiggle a little. Take it out and look for needle strikes or damage on the edges, if it is damaged you can try to smooth it up with fine file as a temporary fix but purchase a new one soon as possible. The other two factors to look at is the upper thread take up lever, make sure the thread is in it and then check the upper tension by pulling thread thru the needle. When the presser foot is in the raised position, the thread should pull thru the needle easily, when the foot is lowered onto the fabric, the thread should be hard to pull. If it is still easy with the foot down then the thread did not go into the tension discs properly or the upper thread tension dial is set at too low a number. It should be on a 3-4 or 5kif I remember correctly.
My Janome 300e screen is frozen on the info page (Main Ver.1.00-K-001Y, Slave Ver.001, DCI Ver.1.06) Can I reset it?
- Power Off: Turn off your machine completely. Make sure it's not just in standby mode but completely powered down.
- Unplug: Disconnect the power cord from the outlet. Wait for about 10-15 seconds to ensure all power is drained from the machine.
- Plug Back In: Reconnect the power cord to the outlet.
- Power On: Turn on your Janome 300e and see if the screen is responsive now.
If the issue persists even after performing a reset, there might be a more significant problem with the machine's software or hardware. In such cases, it's advisable to contact Janome customer support or a certified technician for further assistance. They may provide additional troubleshooting steps or recommend servicing the machine.
I have a Janome model 577 (I know it's old!!) and
If the top tension is on 0 I suspect the problem begins in the bobbin, make sure first of all the bobbin is turning anti clockwise in the bobbin case, when you pull the thread through the bobbin case there should be slight resistence, if it is too loose turn the screw on the bobbin case clockwise about a quarter of a turn to tighten, if it is not making muh difference you may have fluff stuck under the spring on the bobbin casem take a fine sewing needle and slide it under the spring to see if you can get any fluff out, top tension about 4 or 5
