Singer CG590 Mechanical Sewing Machine Questions & Answers
Why does the bobbin get tangled?
The bobbin case may be improperly inserted, or the bobbin may have been wound improperly or too loosely, or you have inserted the bobbin itself with the wind in the wrong direction.
Cg590 timing
with needle in centre sewing position remove bobbin cover, needle plate, bobbin etc until you can see hook. turn balance wheel towards you until needle at lowest point then turn slowly until needle rises 3/16" hook should be behind needle just above the needle eye
Needle hits the wheel under bobbin
Sounds like the toothed-belt (if there is one) jumped off timing. You can try realigning until the needle goes into the hole as the bobbin holder rotates in place. You can do this by manually slowly operating machine -- do not do with electric pedal.

How to thread the singer cg590 sewing machine??
First, be sure your bobbin is in correctly, place it with the thread running counter-clockwise (the tail will be off to the left), and drop it into the bobbin case. Pull the tail toward you and make sure it catches on the silver catch closest to you by pulling to your left then away from you (toward the feed dogs). You should now feel some tension on the thread, this is good.Be sure the presser foot us up and the wheel is turned so the needle is at it's highest point (neutral), then put a spool of thread on the spool holder (behind the machine above the motor) with the thread catch (a little notch) to the right as you put it on. Put on the thread holder (a plastic donught that holds the spool in place). The spool should not move but the thread should come off of it freely.Bring your thread through the plastic catch on the back of the machine (near the center) by passing it underneath and pulling upward and to the rear. Pull it to the front over the top of the machine and pass it through the bottom of the small metal holder (not the round part, that is for winding the bobbin). Bring it down in front of the machine to the tensioner, passing it around the bottom of the tensioner then pulling up so that the tension is engaged. Don't worry if you don't feel tension, that's normal if your presser foot is up and needle is at the top. Pull the thread up to the top of the machine and through the receiver then down toward the needle. There is a double loop just above the needle, thread through it then thread your needle front to back.Be sure to pull up your bobbin thread and hold both threads as you start to sew.
