I have the Magic Chef MCD1311ST and when I hit the start button it doesn't start, but clicks and the timer counts down.
Her are the three most likely causes for your symptoms, but not in any particular order.
1) You may have blown a fuse.
If you will enter the make and model into the website of "SearsPartsDirect", you might get a schematic that will tell you whether your model has a fuse or not.
2) You may have a failed capacitor ( this is the "starter" for the magnetron)
3) You may have a failed "magnetron"( this is the heavy piece that makes the radio waves that cook your food.).

If your model has a fuse, it could be blown.
To see if it does, using your computer search engine, type your model number into the box when you are asked to at "SearsPartsDirect".
Scroll down the parts list to see if yours has a fuse.
By the way, your model number is not correct for the search, I think it needs more numbers &/or letters.
One of the most common reasons otherwise for your symptoms is a bad magnetron ( the large & heavy unit that emits radio waves to cook the food) or a bad capacitor ( the starter for the magnetron).
These parts and their cost are to be found on the Sears website.
More often than not, the cost of these parts plus the labor to replace them is so high most people buy a new one instead.
