Oven has power, but will not turn on

It sounds like the door is seriously out of alignment preventing the door latch from engaging properly. The hinges can be loosened and the door can be adjusted to some extent.

Sharp R305KS Stainless Steel 1100

unplug microwave. Take ALL dishes out of the microwave and do a proper check of the inside the cooking area. If you are sure that's ok put the glass dish back in if it has one. Test that the oven and grill are still functional.? Do they heat up? If they do then get one of those microwaveable bowls or dishes and put some water into it. Place it back into the microwave and do the check again on microwave heating. Does it bang or spark again? If it does and the other heating is OK then the Magnatron to me sounds as it's on it's last legs. That does not mean you have to scrap the microwave if it is the Magnatron. as a new one can be purchased and installed.

Light doesn't go off and microwave doesn't work

follow this steps and fix it. God bless you
  1. Inspect the power cordUnplug the power cord and check for voltage at the outlet. Also inspect for damage, shorts, or burn marks that can be a possible safety hazard.
  2. Bad door switchIf your microwave does not work at all and you know everything is plugged in properly and the outlet is functioning, then also check the door hooks and the door release button. Using a volt-ohm meter on RX1, check your terminals. When your microwave door is closed you should have a reading of zero. Once the door is open the reading should change to infinity. If these readings do not match up, replacement of the door switch is necessary.
  3. Blown fusesTo determine if your fuse has blown out, which may attribute to your microwave not running, you need to pull the fuse out using a pair of fuse pullers. Lay it down and using a volt-ohm meter on RX1, check both ends of the fuse in question. If you do not get a reading of zero, then you will need to replace the fuse.
  4. Bad fan motorLocate the fan and remove the leads. Again using the volt-ohm meter on RX1, check the terminals. If an infinity reading is displayed, it means that the fan has gone bad and requires replacement.
  1. Light bulbIf your microwave light bulb is not working, perhaps it has blown. The first step is to replace the bulb and power on the microwave. If this does not correct the issue, the next step is to check the socket and wiring to verify if that is the problem.
  2. Light bulb socket & main control boardIf your microwave light bulb is not working after the installation of a new bulb, check the light socket as well as the wiring to ensure they are properly operating. If these sources are functioning properly, the next step is to check for a faulty control board as a possible root cause to your microwave light bulb malfunction.

Maytag microwave mmv4205bas key pad is not

It could be that the buttons are worn out. You'd need to replace the keypad to fix it, which will likely cost about as much as a new microwave. See if you can get it fixed under warranty, also, try cycling the power, it's always worth a shot.

When I press start on my sharp R-305K microwave

Dead appliance, power on wall outlet.

YOUR SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT!

Attempt this only if you are competent.

If your appliance has absolutely no functions at all, remove it from the mains supply, remove the case and see where the mains lead goes in to the appliance and follow the cable until you find the main fuse.
ONLY USE THE SAME TYPE AND RATING OF FUSE TO REPLACE IT.
The usual cause of this fuse failure is the door switches are contaminated or sticking. Check the door switches before putting power back on to the appliance.
Hope this helps.

On the touch pad numbers 3, 6, 7 and 0 dont work

sounds like the touch pad control has failed ... there is a touch pad on this unit and also a control board located behind units touch pad... you can gain access to this by unplugging unit and removing console that houses touch pad /clock assembly ... once removed the only test there really is to do would be with power off remove ribbon cable to touch pad and make sure clear of any dust /debri and reconnect there are 2 small holes in ribbon cable that are used when reconnected fir into small slots and firmly connect... if that doesnt fix i would recommend a new touch pad... not sure what area your located... there is a distributor for sharp in dallas ,texas called
global micro parts... reputable company that if you give them your model number they can assist you with the part.... good luck to you
