I hope you have solved this problem by now... The door not closing properly happens when coffee grounds build up in the middle of the machine. It tends not to get everything into the waist box. You need a chopstick to fish out the grounds from behind/under the central column of the machine. You'll find a lot of coffee packed in! Then the door will close.
