Grinding makes a lot of scratch noise and coffee

Likely a foreign object is blocking up the grinder. Remove all beans and run at coarsest grind to try to clear it, chase it through with more beans if necessary. If this does not clear it then the top burr of the grinder assembly can be removed after disassembling the machine. Mark the grinder coarseness cogs before moving them to assist reassembly. Moderately difficult procedure.

Whats is the voltes of the motor

The transmission motor in Australian models is rated to 240 volts DC. Due to it being driven by biased AC, do not expect to actually see that voltage on the terminals with an ordinary multimeter. To test the motor, check for some small resistance (20-50 ohms?) between the input terminals on the transmission's power filter board. Make sure the motor rotates smoothly.Transmission If the transmission is not moving or getting stuck there may be obstructions, the lead screw may be worn or the limit switches could be faulty. If cleaning and grease on the screw/bearings don't help then replacement is a big pricy job only for confident hands. Approach with caution.

Hi the cup warming tray is very hot to the touch

The cup warming tray works by sitting directly over the main boiler. If there is something wrong with the cup tray there is probably something wrong with the boiler.If there is lots of steam coming from the top of the machine you may have a leak. Check for puddles under the machine as well.LeaksCoffee leaking into the drip tray could be from the brew unit or the front door assembly. Water leaking probably means a hose connection to the boiler has failed. Don't just leave it, fix leaks immediately. Besides the electrical danger, the rust on working parts from long term leaks can be extensive.Are you confident? Operate the machine with all covers off to see where the leak comes from. Be extremely careful, ready to pull the plug at any moment. Touch nothing inside! Burning, scalding and electrified! Check both boilers very closely while making coffee, most leaks become obvious on close examination.Most leaks are due to failed o-rings in the connectors at the end of the teflon hoses, usually at the coffee boiler. Replacing the o-rings should stop the leak. Source replacement o-rings. Slide the hairpin c-clip out of the side of the white connector and pull the teflon hose out. Fish the old o-ring out of the connector with a small hook or point if it didn't come out with the hose. Place the new o-ring over the end of the hose, snug against the brass collar. push the hose back into the coupling being careful to go straight and true so as not to damage the new o-ring. Some force may be required, be careful not to kink the hose. Blunt needle nose pliers to push the rear of the brass collar usually does it. Replace the c-clip and test for further leaks before reassembling.

Water leaking from back of container

You either have a small crack on the water tank and/or theconnection from the bottom of the tank reservoir to the machine is not sealingproperly. (i.e. similar to putting the tank on top of a flat surface, the tankwill leak as the seal connections gets pushed up and water begins to flow out)-It is that component that I am referring to. If you can inspect it to pin pointthe problem - if the latter is the case (valve), could try purchasing a newo-ring, piston, and valve. There is a seal on top of the machine under the water tank.To get to it, remove the water tank, and set aside. There is a large doughnutshaped cap on top of the machine. Slip a screwdriver on the outside edge of thecap and pry up gently. When it snaps up, go to the other side of the cap and dothe same. There is a black seal in the center and if you stick your finger inthe center and it lifts out, it needs to be replaced. Clean any residue insidethe opening with a Q-tip.

Hope this will help you. Good Luck.

Can not completely compress coffee after ground

Hi ldn891,

I see that you are having issues with your coffee maker having to not be able to compress coffee after ground and push cylinder into tray.

I believe you are making Espresso right.

First thing never add Ground Coffee while the machine is turned OFF, to prevent the ground coffee from spilling inside the machine.

Never add more than 1 measure, otherwise either the machine will not make the coffee and the pre-ground coffee will be lost inside the machine, dirtying it, or the coffee will run off
in drips.

If you add more than one measure of pre-ground coffee and the funnel blocks, use a plastic knife to push the coffee down the infuser, if this happens you will need to clean the infuser as well.

I believe this is what is causing you cylinder to not going into the tray.

• Before performing any cleaning operations, the machine must have
cooled down and must be disconnected from the mains power supply.
• Never immerse the machine in the water: it is an electrical appliance.
• Do not use solvents or abrasive detergents to clean the coffee maker.
A soft damp cloth will suffice.
• The infuser, grounds container, water tank and drip tray must
NEVER be washed in the dishwasher.

The infuser must be cleaned regularly to prevent it from filling with coffee
deposits (that may lead to malfunctions). To clean it, proceed as follows:
• turn the machine off by pressing the Power button (do not
unplug it) and wait for all the indicator lights to go off;
• open the service door ;
• remove the drip tray and the grounds container (Fig. 16) and clean
them;
• press the two red release buttons on the infuser sideways and
towards the center (Fig. 29) and pull it out;
WARNING: THE INFUSER CAN ONLY BE REMOVED WHEN THE MACHINE
IS OFF. ATTEMPTING TO REMOVE THE INFUSER WITH THE MACHINE ON
MAY CAUSE SERIOUS DAMAGE.
• wash the infuser under running water, without using detergents.
Never wash the infuser in the dishwasher;
• carefully clean the inside of the machine. To remove the coffee stuck
to the parts inside the machine, scrape it with a plastic or wooden
fork (Fig. 30) and then pick up all the residues using a vacuum
cleaner (Fig. 31);
• Replace the infuser by sliding it onto the supports and the pin at the
bottom; then push the PUSH symbol fully in until until it clicks into
place

Every time I turn on my de'longhi magnifica coffee

Have to up the breaker at panel that controls that line of outlet circuits, but sometimes can not do this as wires in walls that control those outlets are on same circuit and rated at a curtain size breaker. Best and safest way to solve this is plug machine on different circuit that maybe not so many other items are sharing, like if your fridge or microwave is on that same circuit (breaker) it most likely will always trip. Let me know results if this solved problem, thanks Mr Bean Man
