I cannot view HD channels

This piece of information should solve your problem: High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) is a form of Digital Rights Management (DRM). There is a licensing body that issues licenses for HDCP devices. Each HDCP-compliant device, like your Blu-ray player or Xbox, has a license and the ability to talk to the receiving device on the other end of the HDMI cable. The outputting device says "Hey display! Are you HDCP compliant? Here is my license, show me your license!" The display (or other HDCP compliant device) returns with "Why yes, I am legit! Here is my license!" When that process works, it happens within a thousandth of a second and you, the consumer, never even notice. You power on your Blu-ray player or DVR, it makes nice with your HDTV, and you live a happy life never knowing what HDCP even is. if you have an older HDTV set that is not HDCP compliant then you cannot watch any HDCP compliant content on it. If you plug in your HDCP-compliant device to a non-compliant device, you'll either see a blank screen or an error message like "ERROR: NON-HDCP OUTPUT," "HDCP unauthorised," or simply "HDCP ERROR." Short of buying a new television or giving up on your video game project the only way to deal with your HDCP compliance problem is to buy a cheap HDMI splitter that ignores HDCP requests.

Can i use 4ohmes speaker

Hello
The original speaker is of 6Ohms. You can connect a 4Ohms speaker instead, but the quality will be a little less. The output power will go up, so never give so much volume as you raise on 6Ohms speaker.OK.

Hello. I have a Toshida

I would try new cables.....test each of the old cables by connecting them directly to your TV. This might give you an indication of whether a cable is bad...Also try multiple HDMI inputs. If one of the pins inside the cable gets damaged or bad, it can change the way the colors look. If one of the cables displays fine and the other doesn't I'd replace the bad cable....Also, try each cable from each device to your TV....Take a device out of the mix.....my guess is if the cables are OK the Sky Box may be an issue, because the Sony is just an audio receiver.

So ...I would try each cable out from just your TV receiver to the TV (cable box or satellite box or whatever you have....point being, take the skybox out of the mix unless it is also your provider's receiver)

If both cables stay green, the problem is either the box or the TV. I'd be more likely to think it's the skybox, because trying a different input on the TV would usually show a difference.

So I'd say it's most likely to be in this order:
an hdmi cable went bad
skybox has a problem
TV has a problem

So test them in that order....Good Luck!

Tell us more details about the two pairs of speakers and exactly where they're attached. You may have a dangerously LOW impedance load if you're running them together (parallel).

Register and download the manual for free at retrevo.com http://www.retrevo.com/support/Sony-STR-DH810-Receivers-manual/id/23635bh634/t/2/ Page 9: SP A/SP B/SP A B Lights up according to the speaker system used (page 34). However, these indicators do not light up if the speaker output is turned off or if headphones are connected.

Generally speaking, an amp protects itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Check for loose speaker connections at the speaker as a root cause for intermittent shutdown.

The set is new-wont turn

If it is new then take it back for a refund or replacement. It has a warranty an if you know the outlet you are using is good and the power cord is plugged in then you know something is wrong internally.

I am trying to setup my receiver with my TV and

I'm thinking there might be a setting in the cable box that may be sending the wrong bit rate for PCM 2-channel audio but usually the receiver decodes that stuff fine. Just the same, I'd give Comcast a call.

I run the video from my cable box directly to the TV (HDMI) and the coaxial digital audio to my receiver so each one can do what it does best with the best possible un-modified source data.

My Sony model # MHC-V11 MAKES NO SOUND everything seems to operate but i cant get no sound from it

Troubleshoot this issue. Here are some steps you can follow: Check Speaker Connections: Ensure that the rear surround speakers are properly connected to the Audio/Video (A/V) receiver. If applicable to your model, verify that the A/B speaker selector is set correctly. If the speakers are connected to the A speaker connection, the selector must be set to the A position. Test Tone Operation: Perform a test tone operation to check if the speakers are functioning correctly. Increase the rear speaker volume or adjust the surround speaker settings to the maximum level. Speaker Size Settings: Try selecting a different size (small or large) for the rear surround speakers in the menu. Surround Sound Mode: Verify that the A/V receiver is set to a surround sound mode. For Dolby ProLogic surround sound, ensure that the center-channel mode is set to NORMAL or WIDE. If your source is a DVD or Blu-ray Disc player, check that surround sound is enabled in the player's menu. The audio being received must be multi-channel. Different Surround Sound Mode: Try setting the A/V receiver to a different surround sound mode. Source Content: Verify that the source you are playing is encoded in surround sound. Note that during periods of mainly dialog, most of the sound may come from the center speaker only, with audio coming out of the rear speakers when there is background or ambient noise. Factory Reset: Reset the unit back to factory default settings (consult your operating instructions for model-specific steps). If applicable, follow the steps for calibrating the appropriate settings automatically after connecting the calibration microphone device. Speaker Wires and Replacement: Check and replace the speaker wires if necessary. Consider connecting a different pair of speakers to see if the issue persists. If you've tried these steps and the problem remains unresolved, I recommend seeking professional service.

My Sony DHC-FLX7D and DHC-FLX5D is not working due to humidity. Is it possible to repair it ?

steps to troubleshoot and potentially repair them: Troubleshooting Low Sound or No Audio from Rear Surround Sound Speakers: If you're facing audio problems, especially with the rear surround sound speakers, consider checking the following: Ensure that all speaker connections are secure and properly plugged in. Verify that the speaker wires are not damaged or frayed. Check the speaker settings in the system menu to ensure correct configuration. Inspect the speaker impedance and compatibility with the system. If you're using wireless speakers, check their power supply and connectivity. Refer to the operating instructions manual for specific troubleshooting steps. Flexible Circuit Board Repairing: If the issue is related to internal components, you might need professional repair. However, if you're comfortable with electronics, consider these precautions: Keep the soldering iron temperature around 270°C during repairs. Avoid touching the soldering iron on the same conductor of the circuit board more than three times. Be gentle when soldering or unsoldering to prevent damage to the conductor. Important Notice: To prevent fire or shock hazard, avoid exposing the unit to rain or moisture. Do not open the cabinet; refer servicing to qualified personnel. Avoid installing the appliance in confined spaces like bookcases or built-in cabinets.
