My sc-bt230 has switched off
The click is a sign that you have a short in the outputs. To find if it's internal or external disconnect all the speakers and try again. If it fails even now then the defect is internal - one of the amplifiers (most likely the one for the rear right channel) has failed.
To fix that the unit will have to be opened and the amplifier chip identified and replaced - a job that requires at least a basic experience in electronics, if you don't have it then you will have to take it to a repair shop.
If the unit starts without the speakers then one of them is shorted. Start by plugging them one at a time (with the unit unplugged from the mains of course) until the defect returns - replace this one.

I cant get surround sound
Then get it from the source of the TV programming - maybe the cable box. IT has all kinds of good audio outputs. NO signal ever benefits from passing to or through excessive cabling or devices that don't NEED the signal. THAT would include sending audio to a TV or Video to anything BUT the TV.
