Lanier 5235 Printer - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Lanier 5235
The waste toner is contained inside the belt unit that is mounted on the inside of the right hand door. Remove the screws that hold it together and dump it. Very messy so be careful. The message will go away by itself.

U14 is a user code for waste toner full.
Open front cover and you will see a clear plastic bottle at the bottom of the machine; lift this out and dispose carefully of waste toner (do not reuse). When fitting back into machine, make sure that inside of bottle is clean as the detection sensor looks through the bottle to see if it is empty and if toner is covering inside of bottle, the message will remain.

Where can I locate a drum for an old Lanier 5235
Your Lanier is made by Ricoh and is a model Aficio 355. The drum and drum cleaning blade is still available and not too expensive at about $200 for the pair. You can find these with all the related info at precisionroller.com Great people to deal with and I order a LOT of stuff from them.
Their part numbers are P8150 for the drum and C5950 for the cleaning blade.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

BLACK LINE
Greetings,
usually this would be either a cartridge or a fuser.since you changed a cartridge and it's still there.most likely it is the fuser.
you could double check by doing a half stop test.start a print from tray 1 and when the trailing edge of paper is just entering the machine, open the printer to stop print and take out the cartridge, open it's shutter and look at it's drum and the paper just underneath.if the issue ios not at either of those places, then probably the fuser.
if you take out the fuser ,you may be able to see an issue with a fuser roller.like a tear or other anamoly.
Also
More than likely your fuser is peeling. Pretty easy to check...power down printer and pull rear door then unlatch the fuser and look at the fuser rollers...more than likely the bottom roller is peeling on one side...you'll know it when you see it...
Regards,
