Lanier 5222/27 Laser Printer Questions & Answers
Error code SC302
From the Ricoh-Lanier Error Code Sheet:
SC302: Charge Corona Output Error 3 - Grid Voltage error - Charger Roller Current Leak.
I would suggest replacing first the charge roller and if that doesnt fix it, the HIgh Voltage Supply Board.
Lanier 5635 error code displaying
sc320 on the Lanier 5635 is a laser unit error code. Often if you power cycle the machine (turn it off with the orange power switch on the left side of the copier, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on) the code will clear and the copier will resume normal operation. If the error code comes back or doesn't clear, you'll probably need to replace either the entire laser assembly or the polygon mirror motor inside the laser unit. These are best done by a professional -- contact your local Lanier service company if the problem persists.
My lanier is making dark
One of the most common reasons for a Lanier 5222 or 5227 to make dark copies is a problem with the drum unit or developer. Fortunately on those machines, the drum unit and developer are all self-contained in one easily-replacable unit, called the PCU (photoconductor).
If you don't have a new PCU handy, you can order one from the same company you get your toner from. The PCU should generally be replaced every 60,000 copies, but sometimes it may need to be replaced sooner (especially if you run a lot of dark copies or make a lot of copies of images) and it can often run longer than 60,000.
Replacing the PCU is easy -- it sits right next to the toner bottle, and all you have to do is slide the old PCU out and slide the new PCU in (once you remove all of the tape and other trappings from it). Instructions will be included in the box with the new PCU.
Please rate the effectiveness of this solution. Thank you!

We are getting the error
Hi,
This error code sc391 indicates an electrical problem within the
photo conductor unit. The development bias may not correct. Turn the
machine off, wait 10 secs and turn on again. If it was a sensor problem
it will reset it. If this does not work remove the Photo conductor unit
(PCU) and reinstall it. (bad connection may be fixed by this way)
If that does not work, this may
be a problem with the high voltage supply to the board, in which case a service
call will be needed to rectify the hardware issues.
I hope this is helpful for you.
Thanks
I have a Lanier 2138
Hi.
SC555 means that the pressure roller thermistor is returning values that are not in range.
When that happens, either the thermistor is defective, or the wiring is broken.
Try disconnecting the power cord, to reset the printer and to allow the fuser and thermistor cooling down. Wait one hour, then connect back.
If that does not fix the error, or if the error comes back , then the fuser unit must be replaced, or serviced by a technician replacing the thermistor.
Regards.
Misfed jams
First off, does the wheel indicate the proper size paper. Be sure to place close attention to the icon. Second, when you slide the drawer out, in the middle of the right edge, there is a spring loaded pad. Carefully peel the cork off, and rotate it 180 degrees, or you could switch it with the other drawer. Other than that, there might be a small wedge of paper in the lower switch, located in the middle of the paper path, between the paper guides. It may be next to impossible to see unless it is taken apart.
