Im looking for a new
You can order a new one online (I couldn't find one) or just program a universal remote. The codes will be with the new Universal remote. I would suggest a one for all remote. You can find out more here...

Best of luck to you!
I HAVE A CURTIS MATHES
The image is moving because the vertical deflection module isn't synchronized with the vertical syncro burst from the tv signal. Most likely all you have to do is to adjust the vertical syncro resistor , it should be accessible and with a button at the back of the tv. If the button is not there you will have to take the back cover off and look for it - it will be a clearly labeled semi-adjustable resistor.

Audio circuit is not getting supply voltage. Dry solder, weak capacitor could lead to this problem.
Check the audio IC no and search in Google. Check the Vcc, Vss, Vdd pins and check the voltages. Trouble shoot accordingly. Check speaker capacitors also .
The TV just suddenly went

I desperately need a remote for my Curtis Mathis
Try remotes.com for a substitute remote. I believe the exact URL for your model is: http://remotes.com/store/curtis_mathes/cm27002s.html . Universal remotes are available but the cheap ones may not do all of the features of the original remote.
I hope this helps.

I have a black area
Check in the on screen menu if you have closed captioning (C.C.)set to on. Also check if the remote (original TV remote) has a CC button and press it.
Hope this works

Start by Checking B plus voltages along with high voltage which should be around 22 K (Thousand) volts, Make sure you know what you are doing here as high voltage has a nasty bite. if these are correct then check CRT

I have an older Curtis Mathis tv, not dvd
Hi,
Check the volume setting on the TV, then check for a speaker on/off in the menu or on the back of the TV set (it also might be labeled internal/external, since some TV set manufacturers meant their TVs for home theater).
Also, if you're using a cable or satellite set-top box, DVR, or other device, check the audio connection. If you're using HDMI, make sure that HDMI audio out is enabled on you set-top box.
Switch the audio back to the normal stereo, or mono channel on your television. We can't tell you how to do this since every make and model uses a different method. In general, look for a button marked SAP or audio on your remote control. If it's not there, you will probably have to find it in the on-screen menus of your set. Of course the best way is to find your owners manual and follow the directions there.
To give you a reliable diagnosis I would need to know the model of your tv and the cable supplier or what kind of box you are using.
IF: The cable box connects with your tv by one coax cable and connects into the antenna input on the tv then problem is likely in the sound detector stage of the tv.
IF2: The cable box connects to your tv by three cables; one for video and two for audio, then the problem is likely a poor cable or connector. In this case, try the audio cables into the same inputs that give good results with the dvd player. Still better; switch the dvd cables over to the cable box audio outputs and see what you are getting.
IF3: There is a loose connection or cold solder joint that is causing the poor audio with tv/cable, then try the old vibration/whacking test. Smack the set with your hand or fist in a few strategic places to see if you can restore the audio that way.
Let me know if you need more ideas.

PS: Another test; if you live anywhere near a tv transmitter, disconnect the cable and try with rabbit ears or any external antenna to see if you can get good audio from a local station. If it is bad that way, then it is certain the problem is in the sound detector stage of the tv. If the audio is good with local stations, the problem must be in the hookup between the cable box and the tv input - such as the bad cable mentioned above.

MY TV IS SMOKING BURNING INSIDE AND IT IS ONLY A
Can the TV be replaced? Certainly. Stores are full of replacement TV's.
Can the parts in yours that are smoking be replaced? Possibly. Some parts are generic and can be found at companies that sell TV repair parts. But other parts have to come from the manufacturer, and they are not always available or are too expensive to make the repair worthwhile.
Should you get this TV repaired? It depends on what kind of a TV it is (you didn't give a make or model), its age, how much damage was done by the parts that smoked, and what it would cost to repair compared to replacement.
The best solution is to have a TV technician check the set and give an estimate if it's a large-screen or otherwise costly model (or you just really want to keep the set). Or use this opportunity to replace the set if the difference in price is small.
