We would be happy to help you with that. Currently the onlycode we have that will allow you to control your Emprex TV is 597. If this codedoes not work we would recommend doing a power scan.

Power scan instructions:

Step 1:
Press and hold the TV mode button until all mode button back lights illuminate,then release.

Step 2:
Press and release the Power button.

Step 3:
Press the Up button once a second while pointing the remote at the desiredequipment. If the code for the equipment comes up, the equipment will poweroff.

Step 4:
Press the pound (#) button. If the code entered is valid for the remote, themode light flashes three times.

After doing the power scan please remember to put the remote back into SATmode. Thanks so much for being a valued DISH Network customer.

What is wrong with it.

What exactly happens when the set shuts off?...does the power indicator lamp stay on, or does it blink. Also do you still have sound?

Fault to the main power supply regulator section. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. This is simple: set in the closed caption menu (some cable boxes also have it) called TEXT. Look in the menu and turn it off first in the set and also in the box used if used for signal.Odd feature and never really took off--designed so some channels like PBS etc could broadcast text.

I am Sorry to Hear regarding the Problem. Unplug the Unit for Few Minutes, say 15 Minutes and then Turn it ON. Do you still see the Problem?

Have you tried to Run DVD Player. If not Use it and Check, if that is still the Case?

If Yes, this is an Internal Failure and You need to Open the TV to get it Resolved.If you wish, you could Contact a Local TV Repairman to get it Resolved or let me know the Make and Model and i would be able to Guide you.

Make sure to take all the Precautions and all the Security Measures.Also, tell me How Old the Unit is?

Make sure that you need to have Tools like Multimeter and Magnifying Glass and you need to have the Schematics ( We could also Search for Cost effective Service Manual, if that is available with any Vendor ).

There is no Point in getting the Remote repaired as the cost of Repair would be much more than the new remote. Yes, Original Remote is not available.The substitute remote is :-

Is that the same one you purchased? Have you programed it correctly?

It could be an issue with the TV. The IR sensor which senses the signal from the remote might be Defective.

Just purchased a universal remote from jb hi fi

The axles may have substantial amount of in/out play, 1/4 inch or more. Does the axle in question actually drive the wheel or does it freewheel?It's a typical differential so if you get both wheels off the ground and spin one wheel, the other wheel should rotate in the opposite direction.The axles are retained by the differential assembly (inside transmission) so if the axle is truly falling out, to fix it will require transmission be removed and opened. Probably not an economical repair unless you can DIY or replace with good used unit.
