Usually, the Reboot routine is done by holding down the Power ON/OFF button for a while (5 seconds or more) until it reboots. Don't be surprised if it takes a minute or so.Alternatively, consider using the RESET button ... then do the Reboot routine. Make sure your battery is well charged, remove the SD card, and hold the RESET (pin) down for 20 seconds or so (until the screen shuts off). Then do the Reboot routine.

I have the same problem. It seems to only happen sometimes after I disconnect it from my PC. I find holding the power down for 10 seconds fixes it. It is annoying as it will happen again. I would think it was a software issue but seeing as you are the only other person online that suffers from it - I am thinking it is a defect.
Where can I find a user manual
Have you checked the tomtom website ? to download a user manual for your (model of the) TomTom GPS device ... e.g.
https://us.support.tomtom.com/app/manual/locale/en_US
I reformated my canada xl 310.i lost all my files.just a screen with a red x.
You've probably backed up the contents of your TomTom disk (when it was connected to your computer) to your computer before you reformatted the TomTom Disk. Or you used the TomTom Home to back up the contents of your TomTom.
Try to copy the back-up files back on to your TomTom device disk and see if it works.
Just curious ... why did you reformat your TomTom disk ? which will erase all the files on the TomTom disk.
Tomtom free updates
You can use TomTom HOME software to connect to the TomTom website, to get updates to your TomTom GPS. The TomTom website provides free updates for the current satellite positions, the MapShare revisions and the navigation software, if applicable.
A new release of the map has to be purchased on a one-time basis, or you can subscribe to new quarterly releases.
Hi, i am very upset and spend nearly half day
If you had just purchased the TomTom GPS, you can go online to register the GPS, and download and install the "latest map" using TomTom HOME (as per the latest map guarantee, for a new unit).Or, you may want to get TomTom Support (online via email and/or by phone) to help you with your problem ... to see if installing the camera causes the map to be lost, and to recover/restore your map (for free). That may be possible if the map (data) got corrupted when you installed the cameras. You'll just want to make sure that is not the case before you restore/re-install the map ... e.g. was it due to memory constraints/limitations ? If it is, purchasing & downloading the map from the TomTom site may get you back into the same situation ...Yes, there is the option of getting a free map from the GPS underground community ... but that is not legal.
