I plug my storejet device to pc it will not light?

click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll down universal serial bus controllers you could see a yellow question / exclamation mark? ! or a red X

you will need to update/reinstall drivers

right click to reinstall drivers

if you can see your usb but its not working

ports(com&lpt)right click update driver

sometimes the wires inside the cable will be damaged due to bending or stretching or placing heavy equipment upon the cable

just replace the cable of the hard disk, when you plugged the external disk drive you got that windows could recognize the USB device change the cable everything should work fine again,

if you can see your usb drive but its not working

ports (com&lpt) right click update driver if this fails to fix the problem

check the USB leads that attach to the motherboard usually red white green black make sure they are securely seated and have no dust build up on them dust will cause static and a lot of unforeseen problems to a computer and its parts

if this fails to fix the problem you might have to install a usb 2 or 3 card they are cheap and easy to install you can buy these on Ebay very cheap hope this helps

My transcend 500 gb is not getting detected by laptop, power of hard disk automatically turns off after 30 seconds

check all leads from motherboard to hard drive including electrical extensions and all of your cd/dvd drives make sure connections are secure dust free and not faulty computers need all power and data to travel through every working device and to finish its cycle so any faulty lead will end in computer error or shutdown or fail to boot make sure your computers RAM modules are securely seated with no dust in the sockets also the Cmos battery has charge and seated with no dust in the sockets some motherboards cmos batteries are soldered in might be getting hot check your CPU make sure it has a thermal paste and a dust free and secure seating could be a memory dump you might be running to many programs at the one time placing to much strain on the CPU you might not have enough RAM random access memory hope this helps you

Disconnecting randomly

The hard drive has an intermittent problem in the circuit board, as it heats up it will tend to disconnect randomly. The cause could be poor solder joints to a part that is on the verge of failure.

Whenever i insert my external

The most common cause of this in my experience is not enough amperage available at the USB port. If you're using a front/top case port, try switching to one of the ones at the back of the case that is connected directly to the motherboard. If that doesn't work, you can use an externally powered USB hub, which usually solves the problem as long as the hub has a 2A or better power supply.

Hope this helps.

HI I have a Transcend

Hi jennielakato It is not easy to recover files from a formatted hard drive, but it is not impossible. Data written onto a Hard Drive or other storage device is not deleted by formatting. Formatting is a BIOS instruction to the Operating System, defining areas on the write/read surface of the hard Drive to and from which the Operating System can and cannot write and read data. Any data written prior to formatting is still there, under the formatting, it's just that the Operating System is instructed to ignore it. Retrieving this lost data requires the Hard Drive to be removed and connected with a Hard Drive Dock, and External Hard Drive Enclosure or a USB to IDE/SATA Adapter Cable to a 2nd Computer with specialist Data Recovery software installed on it, such as: NTFS Deleted File Recovery(http://win.softpedia.com/dyn-search.php?search_term=Deleted+File+Recovery&x=7&y=11) EasyRecovery Prohttp://win.softpedia.com/dyn-search.php?search_term=EasyRecovery+Pro&Submit=Search&license_filter=0&results_per_page=20&lastupd_filter=0&sort_field=0 Power data Recovery http://win.softpedia.com/dyn-search.php?search_term=Power+data+Recovery&Submit=Search&license_filter=0&results_per_page=20&lastupd_filter=0&sort_field=0 GetDataback for NTFShttp://win.softpedia.com/dyn-search.php?search_term=GetDataback+for+NTFS&Submit=Search&license_filter=0&results_per_page=20&lastupd_filter=0&sort_field=0 Undelete Plushttp://win.softpedia.com/dyn-search.php?search_term=Undelete+Plus&Submit=Search&license_filter=0&results_per_page=20&lastupd_filter=0&sort_field=0 Active File Recoveryhttp://win.softpedia.com/dyn-search.php?search_term=Active+File+Recovery&Submit=Search&license_filter=0&results_per_page=20&lastupd_filter=0&sort_field=0 Since Data Recovery applications work by jigsaw-puzzling matching but dislocated File Fragments back together, it is more difficult to recover data if any new data has been written onto the Hard Drive after formatting. Since different Recovery applications use a variety of heuristic data matching algorithms, some more effective than others, it worthwhile trying a variety of different applications, if the lost data is important.

I hope this helps.

I am using Transcend 320GB

Did you try running software from windows to try repairing it? disc scan etc, There is plenty of help on your computer or on the net to repair lost or corrupt files and most of it is free, Treat it like it is the internal hdd on your own computer but tell your computer to scan that disk instead of its own internal hdd, it does work as i use this method myself, Go to start-my computer-you should see your external hdd there, Right click and go down to properties, Click on that and go to tools, Use tools from the drop down menu and try repair it from there, There will be one called check now and tick both boxes, Hope this helps,

Hi. Please try formatting again but from another computer. Also it can be a virus or malware try scanning it with antimalwarebytes and and your antivirus software i recommend avast free version. If you can't open it you might have erased the drivers needed to access the gadget try re installing them you can download them from the manufacturer official page or sometimes they come with a cd when you purchased the HDD.
