Set SWDIP switch 1, switch number 4 to ON. That switch controls whether when you get a CR (Carriage Return), you get just that carriage return or a CR-LF (carriage return + line feed). You need the latter. Setting the switch to ON will accomplish that. Have a good day.

please check the DATA cable and printer driver installed in the system. these are two things often responsible for junk printing.. what kind of printer iit is ? laser ? inkjet or Dot matrix?

i feel it is totallyprint driver problem. driver you are using is not matching the printer. install proper driver provided by printer vendor

Access and clean the area where the paper runs over the heating/printing element. This area picks up foreign substances and bakes them so that the paper no longer makes proper contact with the print head. Use something like an alcohol based solvent to remove any build-up in this area.

Your printer has the older style "Parallel Port" (IEEE1284) and Serial RS-232C. You should use the parallel cable to connect with your computer. If your PC does not have a parallel port, then you can either install one on an expansion card for about $10-15, or even easier you can get a converter cable which will allow you to plug right into your computer's USB port. This printer isn't supported in Vista. All you can do is to install a Virtual machine, XP on it and the printer in that XP.
