When I reboot my pc, I get a port monitor error on

1. check the USB cable to see if it is connected properly
2. check to see if you have the device showing the "device manager" if not then reload the device by shutting down the PC.
Then rebooting and connecting the device again to the appropriate port.
Check to see if the device bubble on screen says "new hardware" detected.
If so then your device was enable and is not ready to use.
If not then the device needs a driver update and this can be done by going back to the "device manager" and right clicking to go to "properties" to enable new updated drivers
You may also have to go to the manufacturers site to see if there are any updated drivers available.

How I cured my Seiko ER 9000

This is what I did to "cure" my ER 9000 from locking up etc. First remove the batteries. Wrap the ER 9000 in four or five layers of cling film ensuring that it is completely sealed. Place it in the freezer overnight. When you remove it the next day, DO NOT remove the cling film until the whole thing comes up to room temperature again otherwise the ER 9000 will get wet from condensation. This should take 2 or 3 hours to be certain. Now remove the cling film and wipe the unit to ensure that it is dry. Refit the batteries ( new ones if you can) then and this is important PRESS RESET before you do anything else. If all is well it should come back to normal. I hope that this is helpful and you have the same success as I had. If this is successful please give feedback, Thanks
