Our AC keeps cutting out. It runs for a few minutes then stops. have to switch off and restart. Any idea why? Have emptied water and cleaned filter recently

Look for:
  1. the ac needs air flow thru the indoor and outdoor radiators
  2. the outdoor radiator coil should get warm/hot and produce warm air.
  3. indoor radiator coil needs should get cold and produce cold air.
The ac needs the fan motor(s) working and compressor running and pumping. Compressor skinny copper line hot and thick line cold.

Just bought used portable ac. it blows great cold air then blows warm air for a while then back to cool andcold... is this normal? if not hwo to fix?

Yes it's normal in most cases. There should be a knob to turn so it cycles on more often. If it's not a window unit, & is a free-standing unit, you might have to empty a water pan or tank on it. As condensation collects on the cooling coils, it collects in a container near the bottom. If it's full of water, it will cycle the cooling off until you empty the water container or some of the water in it evaporates.

Pilot light pressure to high blowing itself out, any advice?

pilot should sound like a little jet and not have a lazy flame. My instincts tell me your pilot is fine but you have a faulty thermocouple or the pilot flame is not hitting it good.

I have a new DeLonghi Gas heater but once I've lit it, the flame just goes out. I've just bought another heater because the 3 year old one did exactly the same thing.

I'm sure that you read the directions and you are holding the button for a full minute. 1) Try blowing it out with a hair dryer. Dust does lots of weird things to gas heaters. 2) There is a thermocouple that opens when it is hot and makes the gas keep flowing. It is a small metal tube that sits directly in the flame. When it heats up, the gas flows. If that is shot, then it won't keep the gas flowing, so it will turn off when you let go of the button. Try tapping it lightly with the tip of a screwdriver to knock it loose. There is about a 10% chance that this might fix it temporarily until you can get a new one.

How do I disconnect a Delonghi Super Penguino split system portable air conditioner exterior unit?

Time for a service call. You just released some of the freon in your system and now it's not charged correctly. Thank god nobody got poisoned. Have the tech reclaim the refrigerant you have left and disconnect the hard lines and electricity. Do your project, then call the tech back to connect, recharge and test your unit. These things are not cheap. Welcome to the world of home repair. Please find my answer helpful, and good luck with your project. 25352024-u40lsvyytnuesyuv3fbafhtd-5-0.jpg
