What is ERROR 32 in below camera ?

Sure it is not error 23? 32 is not on my list, but perhaps I should update that one. For Err 23 stands Too many images. Most of the time the camera can't find space on the memory card for more images. When you only have one card, see what images you can save on a computer, and then delete them from the card. then check again.

`i bought a canon Power

Same problem here on a Power Shot A3150 IS with a 8GB micro SD. All worked well, then bom, only unidentified images. But the camera doesn't tell you unless you review the images... Tried 5 recovery softwares dso far, some recover the images into a bmp, which then also says unidentified image... Even the camera can't read them. And if I take a movie, I get an ASCII chaos in the folder the images are recorded in. No solution so far.

Shutter speed

Like most point&shoot cameras, the A3100 does not give you direct control over the shutter speed. You're expected to just point the camera and shoot, without worrying about such niggling details. You can gain some control over the shutter speed by changing the scene mode. For example, portrait mode attempts to reduce the depth of field by opening the aperture, which results in a faster shutter speed. Conversely, landscape mode attempts to increase the depth of field by closing the aperture, which results in a slower shutter speed.

Can I retrieve deleted pictures

Take no more pics until you've recovered your photos, take the card out of the camera. This is to reduce the chance of you overwriting some of your "lost" photos. There are many good freeware photo recovery software options that may help you recover your photos. This article reviews and outlines several of the better ones:

I accidentally "protected" all of

The instructions for protecting/unprotecting images are in the "Protecting images" section of the manual (page 98 in my copy).

The best way to delete all photos on a memory card is to format the memory card. This should be done each time you finish transferring your pictures to a computer, as FixYa is full of people asking how to retrieve pictures from cards that haven't been recently formatted. Refer to the "Formatting Memory Cards" section of the manual (page 22 in my copy).

If you need a manual, you can download one from the manufacturer's web site at

The Menu button seems to be jammed

Sometimes buttons can wedge under the surrounding casing. If you can gently depress the button and wiggle it, that might un-jam it. Otherwise, you might want to open the case up and clear the jam.

USB driver for Canon A3100 powershot

You don't need a driver. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

If your photos are stored on the memory card, then removethe memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader.Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of yourworking computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device oran external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card andcopy only the photos you want to your computer.Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. Youcan copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off yourmemory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing anyprograms.

Can't get full use out of 8GB SD card.

There is no problem. The camera can only create video clips up to 4GB in size. You can record two long clips, but no single clip can exceed 4GB.
