One thing to verify is that the Ai-Net switch at the bottom of the radio is set to Norm and not the EQ position. And also gray Ai-Net connectors are for audio input and the black Ai-Net connectors are for audio output. It sounds like you have everything connected correctly and at least the Sirius is coming up. And I assume that the CD changer works when connected directly to the reciever so you know that it is working. I would suspect that there might be a problem with the Sirius reciever not allowing the communication signal to connect to the Alpine deck and in that case you would need to get a new reciever. You could check the Alpine radio settings and see if there is something that needs to be changed in order to allow the CD changer to work. If you disconnected the battery connection to the radio then it might have reset the settings to factory default. Otherwise it sounds to me like the problem is with the Sirius reciever.

Same problem on my CX-7. I've had antenna replaced one so far. It takes about 30 minutes in the cold (usually on at night on my commute home) to get signal. I agree, during the summer months, everything works fine.

I am in the same situation.  I have had my sir-alp1 for 4 years and it simply stopped being recognized.  I called Alpine and they said they have no connection to this piece, it is made by "directed electronics" and I need to contact them.  A new one is around $120 whereas this one was 79 on sale in 2004.  I still have he installation guide/owner's manual for it and nowhere inside is there a number to call them.

my sirius stiletto 100 power on/lock switch slides up and down freely. feels like something came apart inside the device. any solutions?

I also had this problem. I had to go through the menu into the setup and then into tuner settings. There should be an option called tuner area. If you set it to area 1 it should start working. For some reason the sirius only works on area one. Hope that solces your problem

I have sat ultra 2000 have some file store in my disk when I download to receiver by mistake I klick the file fix. I put the power off and remove my cable put the power on I have some problem that Receiver constantly on and off and I try to download the file I can't because the power does not stay and there is no line or 0 digit please help me

the only thing left is the head unit but that is not very likely. Go back to where you bought it from and have them give you new tuner box and anttenna. Sorry man But i put these in all day and its almost impossible for the head unit to be the prob

you need to call sirius and activate the new unit the id number is on the bottom sir-alp1 unit or the box it came in

You most likly have the Data cable in one the other or both plugged into the wrong side, this just happened to me the other day with some Pioneer stuff and I had plugged the input outputs backwards. Everything came up as far as sources showing but now sound. That should fix you up Good luck

It is possible that the SIR unit stays powered as long as the red wire is powered, since it is normally connected to a switched source. To test this, disconnect the red wire or move it to a switched source (you could even add a switch on the wire and flip it manually). If the battery stays healthy after that, then the red wire being constantly powered is the problem. Otherwise, it is possible there is a problem with the Ai-NET cable connected to the SIR unit.

After the serial number of the unit is given to the support tech to enable service, it is your subscription that aloows to get those stations. It could be the unit as they said.

Hey adam, check that antenna wire! It's probably pulling out at the antenna/magnet end. Adam, I checked that and sure enough, it was pulling out. So I put on a new antenna and problem solved! Thanks Adam!
