Had the same problem. Called Memorex, they have discontinued making the unit and the plug. Stupid.
Went to Radio Shack. They sell an adapter, part number 273-333. It is an Enercell AC-to DC Power Adapter for 3/5/6/6.5/7/7.5VDC. Adjustable for the volts you need. The Mi2290 takes 5 volts. It comes with 3 interchangeable tips. The orange one fits the unit.
Don't be surprised, though. It was almost $30. Half the price I paid for the speaker. Cheaper than buying a new one, I guess. Hope this helps.

">>" and "<<" buttons to set the desired hour. Once the hour
is set, press the "play/pause" button again so that the minute is
flashing. Again, use the ">>" and "<<" buttons to set the
desired time.
To change to military time from am/pm, hold the
"Time Set" button until the time starts flashing, then press the
">>" button. In order to revert back to am/pm, hold the "Time Set"
button until the time starts flashing (if it is not already flashing)
and then press the "<<" button.
How do I turn the
I don't think you can turn it off. What I ended up doing was taping cardboard over the clock so that the light was dimmer, and i just had to lift one end to look at the time.
