ION Audio Tailgater Portable PA System Speaker System for iPod - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
How to remove the lead
Very Easy!!! i just replaced mine yesterday, In the bottom of the tailgater there is a cover plate with 4 screws. Unscrew them and pull battery out, unplug the positive and negative cables attached to battery. Take Battery to an Electronic Store and ask for replacement battery. These batteries are also used in back up home alarm systems so they're pretty easy to find. i found mine at radioshack. Now to install, easier!!! plug in power and ground cables to battery, slip battey back into pocket screw back on plate, and charge for good 4-6hrs. and voila!!! you'll be bumpin in no time!!!!

How to change the auxiliary input on an ion tailgater
Yo. This same thing happened to me. It sounds rudimentary, but I just superglued toothpicks onto the broken ends (obviously being sure not to get glue on the jack itself) and after waiting for them to dry, I just yanked them out by the toothpick. Worked like a charm. Good luck!

No sound on the tailgater
My tailgater is from the US, and I live in NZ. I changed the voltage to NZ and while the unit did work straight out of the box, after a month of me not using it, it now no longer has any volume. I have tried all the knobs but thats as far as my knowledge goes! Does anyone have any solutions I can try? thanks!

You should have no problems.
I live in Australia, with 240 VAC, and we see this type of thing a lot.
Put the cap back on once you have switched it.
I have seen a computer power supply that was accidentally switched back to 120 as the switch had no cover.

My turntable appears to be uneven. it looks like a rolling hill when spinning, can this be fixed
Is it just the matt that records sit on that's the problem or the whole platter?
If it is the matt you can peel it off and get a new one from somewhere such as as Amazon. It doesn't have to be the same brand as the turntable as long as it fits on.
Just search for "turntable matt".
If the platter is the problem it might be caused if the platter is plastic by either a chemical or heat warping the platter. Has it been exposed to the sun for example? Some chemicals such as oil and polish can cause it to bend out of shape.
It's likely if the platter has warped that it will need to be replaced.
Rumbles badly, unable to play.
Adjust the weight on the end of the arm, till the rumble sounds stops, but the stylus stays in the groove. It's trial and error doing this I'm afraid.
I have connected my Akai AP A510 turntable to my
"PHONO" is the only designated connection on a receiver that is literal and exclusive. Nothing but PHONO will work right on it and old-school turntables would require it to preamplify the tiny current produced by a Phono cartridge.

Hi.
Firstly if you have lots of USB items plugged in, remove them as sometimes you can pull to much power from the usb sockets and things start to malfunction.
CHeck ALL the setting within the program. You usually are required to assign the external contoller and ouputs if they are not selected automatically. Also check (If using pc) that your product is comaptible with your computer spec and that there are no hardware conflicts. You should check ION's support pages for any updates that may fix any known bugs or problems.
