Well I would suggest to do a backup of your contacts and sms messages and just do a HARD RESET on your phone to put it back to the condition that you first got it. After that if he installed any software or Buletooth linked your phone to his it will be all GONE and you can restore your contacts and sms messages Hope this helps and IT WILL WORK if you do this

You select the text message that you want to lock, hold your finger on the message until a menu appears and scroll down to lock message. Once locked a lock should appear in upper right hand corner.
Then you can select the thread of messages that you want to delete from the list, check the box that states you want to delete all messages including the locked ones.

If you don't have it, I recomend the Advanced Task Killer App. It force closes any program running in the background making things run more smoothly.

IDK about a simple legitimate fix for this. I was just messin around with the pattern, hit "forgot pattern" to see what it does. It asks me for the Google username and password, but has no way for me to go back! I know the pattern! The Motorola Droid is free from this problem, when on the forgot password screen, it still allows me to go back to the pattern screen. Very disappointing HTC...

On the other hand, there is a bit of a "hack" that can be used to solve this. Create a new Google account. Then call the locked phone from another phone. While in the call, you have full access to the phone. Press home, go into your settings, and add your new Gmail account into the phone. End the call, go back, and enter your new Gmail info. You may also need to enable Wifi while the call is still connected, I'm not sure if 3G will work for the sync while the phone is "locked".

If the recharageable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. Frozen Screen problem mostly occurs when one has recently updated the phone software.
If that's the case with you taking battery out should have helped.
Try resetting it this way.

Click your text messages icon, then the menu button, go to settings from there and scroll down. You should see an option to display a message signature.
