It sounds like it's not configured to be a DHCP server. It should be a setting you can turn on. Login to the router. You may need to manually set your computer's IP to be in the same subnet as the router so that you can do so. The default address for the Netgear 7550 would be http://192.168.254.254, so you'll have to set your computer's IP to something like 192.168.254.253, and then browse to the above address. If you can't remember the password ! You will need to do a factory reset to reset the router to factory settings. however all settings will be lost and have to be set up again. Google your model number and factory reset If you need to change it you need to tell us the model number so we can figure out the exact instructions.
