Lenovo G550-29583AU Notebook Questions & Answers
I have Lenovo g550, bought
If these beeps aren't while booting up, then there is software program notifying you of something. It could be a system beep for just about anything and isn't easy to find without hands on.
You can do a little research on your own - checking your installed programs for notifications.
You can open your event viewer where everything your system does is recorded minute for minute (tedious but works) Problems show with either a yellow triangle with a ! in it or a red button. The program gives a short description - not detailed but it could give you an idea where to look.
It's difficult to assume anything with the limited information given but suffice to say, if you're in windows, it's not a boot issue.

My lenova g550 hard disc indicator light won't turn opn. the screen is black
Have you made any modifications to the computer lately? (Taken it apart ect?) I had a similar issue with mine. There was a short in the keyboard. I ordered and installed a new keyboard and it has booted up fine ever since.
Try something as simple as checking the keyboard connection, this will require taking the laptop apart though.

Follow these steps: Restart your computer in MS- DOS mode. When you get to the C:\> or C:\WINDOWS> prompt, type DEBUG and press Enter.A hyphen (-) prompt will appear waiting for you to enter commands. Enter the following commands, pressing Enter after each one. Note: the o is the letter o and stands for OUTPUT. o 70 2 e o 71 ff q After the q command (which stands for QUIT) , enter Exit. Then try to enter your BIOS at bootup. The password prompt should now be gone and you should now have full access to it again. However, you will now be at the default BIOS setttings and may want to change them to your preference.

My lenove laptop shut down and will not reboot
Turn on your system, then start tapping the F8 function key several times during the boot period. You should get a short text menu.If you can get that far, choose 'Safe mode' which will load only the minimum of drivers and this will often allow you to examine the system for problems.Your Desktop won't look as accustomed since it will be shown at the lowest video resolution and this will make the icons must larger and more crude but this is normal. You didn't mention which version of MS Windows you have installed so continuing from that point is not the same for each but you should have a late enough version to have Restore available. - Click on 'Start.'- Then choose 'All programs.'- Look for and click on 'System Recovery.' - On that short menu, click on 'System Recovery.'Continue from there and if the Restore tracking has been active (it is by default), you should have several earlier dates to choose from.Select one of these to try to achieve a file condition that will allow you to reboot to a healthy system again.
