As per my knowleger you have not installed touch pad drivers for your Toshiba Satellite P505-S8980 if you have installed it, try reinstalling it.

After a quick read-through of the user manual for the P505-S8950, the only way to discharge the CMOS memory seems to be removal of main battery and power cord for and extended period of time in order to cause the CMOS battery to discharge.
There may be a way to open the laptop and remove the CMOS battery to speed-up this process; however, my previous experience with taking apart a Toshiba laptop led me to the realization that they are not designed to be easily disassembled -- I had a heck of a time reconnecting the display data cable (I had to use a chopstick and have a lot of luck to get it back together).
I would suggest opening each of the access doors on the bottom of the computer in order to determine whether or not you can get at the CMOS battery that way; otherwise, I think your stuck with waiting a LONG time for the CMOS battery to discharge or VERY carefully disassembling the laptop.
