Hi,
If you didn't used your inkjet printer for a long time the most common problem is that the nozzles of the cartridges are clogged with ink, so no ink can go down to the paper and that's why you see a blank sheet of paper. The other option is that you think you have ink in the cartridges but in fact it was finished.
I suggest you to replace the cartridges.

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer. Reboot your pc. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection.

If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

1. Disconnect the printer from your computer.

2. Rebrick (pull out power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds).

2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.

3. Delete the Lexmark print object.

4. Reboot your pc.

5. When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer.

6. Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, then try to print/scan again.

Try this approach:
Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder.
Open the printer cover and remove the cartridges. Then close the printer cover.

Load some paper.
Try to print again to verify that the feeder is properly working now.

Make sure you are inserting a genuine Lexmark cartridge and not refilled/remanufactured.
Please follow the steps below to fix the issue:

1. Make sure the printer is on.

2. Open the printer cover. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the All-in-One is busy.

3. Remove both cartridges from the carrier.

4. Close the printer cover.

6. When the printer turns on, reinsert both cartridges.

9. If the black cartridge ink level is still not recognized, try to insert a different known working black cartridge to determine if the other is faulty. Or replace it with a new cartridge. It could be that it's gone faulty.

What to do

1. download a diagnosis tool that will help determine the cause of the printing issue.
   IMPORTANT: Again, this tool is only to be used in cases where there is no communication error message from the Lexmark job status window and the job spools quickly through the Windows spooler, yet nothing prints.
   
2. Select an easy-to-find Save location, such as your Windows Desktop.
   
3. Double-click on the delserDevMode.exe file.
   
4. Accept the License Agreement. After the file is executed, it saves devmode.txt to your root directory (e.g., C:\devmode.tx.

if the printer is within distance of your wireless router, run a network cable between the two. if the computer can access the wireless router it should be able to access the printer connected to the router.

Sounds to me like you just need to select the printer in other programs.

1. Make sure it's the default printer by going to Start -> Devices and Printers. Find your installed printer, right-click it and check set as default printer. If it's already the default printer, let's move on.
2. In your other programs, such as MS Word, try to print a page.
3. Below the Print button you should see an option to select the printing device. Make sure your printer is selected and see if that works.

In most cases the printer driver software can have errors while being in use or is shut down. So to reset remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and then connect the Printer to be detected as a new hardware as it will be installed. Now check the printer properties to see the ink levels.
Activate head cleaning before a test is taken . Sometimes it is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the PC command or can be an issue with ink drying or poor ink cartridge contacts. Sometimes the power supply unit must be checked as a poor SMPS unit can deliver low voltage and cause issues to the printer function. Check all the leads and connections of the mother board , the tags to the ink cartridge. Also check the mechanical settings of the ink cartridge , if jammed or tight remove motor and manually free the drive before it is set back.

You will need to update the printer software installed on your computer to install the OCR scan software. The Lexmark OCR scan software is available only on the installation disc that came with your printer. Just re-insert the install disc into the computer hard drive and run the installation setup.

i only fix the canon ip4840 which says ink absober full

Try to unplugged and plug it to the other USB port, make sure that when you install lexmark printer, you should open the device manager and check if the USB printing support and imaging devices are properly detected. for manual, try to follow this site: http://images.lexmark.com/publications/pdfs/2007/index/en.html. Just select the printer that your using and boom. Hope it will fix your concern :)
