Dishwasher won't allow me to add rinse agent
Well, you don't have to rip the WHOLE machine apart, just the door! Usually takes about 6 to 8 screws (using a T15 torx screw driver). Depending on the model, you might only need to take off the lower half of the door (all below the control console), or you might have to take out all the door screws. Then remove the detergent dispenser (6 more screws, this time a 3/16" hex head). Then you can remove the wires to it (unplug the DW first!), and pop the dispenser out. Take it over to your sink and turn it upside down and shake it. You might try running hot water over the inlet port to clear up any dried-up residue. You will probably get some water into areas you don't want (like the coil and connectors), but when you are done, you can use a can of compressed air (or "duster" cans) to blow the water out. If that doesn't work, then you will probably need to replace the whole dispenser; but hey, you're already halfway there - you've removed the old dispenser. You can buy new dispensers at SearsPartsDirect.com, RepairClinic.com, EasyApplianceParts.com or AppliancePartsPros.com. If you need further help, reach me via phone at

The clean light on kenmore dishwasher elite keeps blinking and will not stop
That blinking light is trying to tell you that there is something wrong with your dishwasher. Watch that blinking light.... Does it blink 7 times, pauses, and repeats? Or does it blink 3 times (or some other number). The most common problem is 7 blinks which means "water not heating error". This could be caused by a bad heating element, a bad thermal cutoff or thermostat, a bad controller, or a problem with the door latch and/or switches. Usually there is a tech-data sheet located on the other side of the toe-kick panel which will explain the meaning of the varius blink codes, but you might still need to call a technician to fix the problem. Don't forget to put that tech data sheet back so he can find it and use it to fix your dishwasher! If you need further help, reach me via phone at

What are the blinking light codes
Remove the toe-kick panel located under and behind the dishwasher door (2 screws or 2 quick-release catches). Look on the other side of that toe-kick panel. There should be a technical data sheet stored in a little plastic pouch there (if someone hasn't stolen it), which will explain the meanings of the various blink codes. Don't forget to put that tech-data sheet back for the technician, in case you decide that you can't fix it yourself and decide to call a professional! If you need further help, reach me via phone at

How to install dishwasher your self
Is there an old dishwasher where you are installing the new one? It must be connected to a water line, a drain T and an electrical connection. If you have never installed a dishwasher before, it would be a better idea to have someone install it for you (preferrably a licensed installer) or you could have leaks or other problems down the line.
Kenmore dishwasher clean light is
try this and make sure you water is hot enough to cycle your washer, as it has a temp. sensor for this.
The clean light sometimes flashes and just needs to be reset. To do so hit the keys in the following order. <Heated Dry> <Normal Wash> <Heated Dry> <Normal Wash> <Cancel>.
Leaks
Check for cracks in the inside liner of the door itself. Seal anything that looks like a potential leak with silicone sealer. I'm providing this advice because you have already eliminated the other possibilities I can think of. If it has a soap dispenser on the door check for leaks around that especially.
F4e1 error
You can try resetting unit by disconnecting it from the outlet or by switching off the designated circuit breaker for 2 or 3 minutes, then restore power. If the reset doesn't work, I think you need to call a technician to properly diagnose
My brand new Kenmore Elite Stainless steel 24" always displays 'Oversudsing'
Even though the dishwasher comes with detergent, doesn't mean its good. A lot of new dishwashers are very sensitive to soaps. I've found that cascade liquid works the best. Try getting Dishwasher magic and run it through a load with no dishes. Follow the directions on the bottle. You can pick some up at lowes or home depot.

If the dishwasher is connected to a disposal, there is a knock-out on

Stuck in clean and will not reset in les I flip the breaker
If the control module has a short circuit, it will not advance to the next stage. Replacing is not always the answer unless you have done a few continuity tests to locate the exact source of the problem. Lots of folks simply guess and end up spending good money and still remaining with the same problem. Without tests, it is a guessing game, so my advise is to call a pro to your home if the washer is of value to you. Consider the parts and labor cost also. It may be worth investing a new unit.
