Dishes not getting clean
First is the water getting hot in the unit (if you open it mid cycle you should have a lot of steam comeing out(2)when last did you refill the salt dispensor?(3)when last did you fill the rinse aid dispensor?Check all the above make sure of these (water hot?Dispensors are full?)then at the bottom of the machine inside you will see a filter this normally just pulls out and can be cleaned and replaced, then while you head is in the machine visuall inspect the wash arms and check all the holes in them are open and that none are blocked at all if they are then unclip or unscrew the arm and clean them out and replace then give it a try if all these things are right it should work let me know if all is ok or if you need further assistance.
Bad Smell
start your dishwasher with no dishes in it.
Let in run until it takes on water and start washing.
Then open the door and pour in 8 oz of white vinegar and let it finish the cycle.
If this does not correct the smell...purchase the AFFRESH product and use that.
Clean light flashes constanly. Won't clear out to start new cycle
If the clean light flashes 7 times, pauses, then repeats...
When
the dishwasher doesn't sense a water temperature increase, it will
stop working and lock the functions (clean light flashes 7 times, all
buttons are non responsive). It does this as a safety in case the
element is broken and feeding electrical current into the water.
To resolve this you will have to reset the console. Do this by closing the door and press these buttons in sequence...
-high temp wash
-heated dry
-high temp wash
-heated dry
...all
the lights will turn on briefly and the machine will start a diagnostic
cycle. You can press cancel or let the diagnostic cyle finish (1-2
minutes).
You should now be able to run the dishwasher as normal.
If
the issue returns, you could have a problem with the heating circuit
(ie. element, thermostat or wiring). It rarely happens but it could
also be the door switch not engaging properly when the door is closed
(slightly bend the door latch down making sure it doesn't hit the door
when you close it).
Quick Rinsw button blinking
I may have fixed my similar problem- I opened up the machine to get access to the control panel as tech17 advised- then in addition to disconnecting the mylar ribbon, I disconnected all the connections to the control panel.... keep in mind to ensure not to confuse any of the connectors you disconnect. Running a cycle at this time... seems as if working.. can't tell if water is running or just the motor- -- HA! -- i confirmed no water being pumped in.... We then found a float switch (Item 30 on schematic) that got loose from its casing on the front interior right lower side... we put that switch into its proper place and now ALL IS WELL!!!! Yippee!!!
Kenmore elite dishwasher not running
I had the same problem with mine. The whole circuit board, buttons and all, need replacement. If you look online, you can find this part for a bit over 100 dollars. Definetely worth it over paying 5 bills for a new one.Simple to install too, just turn off power at breaker.
No water
Maybe the solenoid that lets the water into the DW is not actuating
I have a KENMORE Model 665 Ultra Wash
run the washer first with nothing in it. see if your still hear the noise. only time it should make any noise is if there is not enough water also rotate the bottom jet and see if it turn s smood.
No water coming in
Check the float.
There is a float inside the dishwasher but you can't see it. The small dome in the bottom has a float inside that activates a switch underneath by a plunger. Sometimes this float gets stuck in the up position. Take the bottom panel off and look directly under the dome for the switch and the plunger that activates the switch. Push this plunger up to see if it moves freely. If it moves then you need to check the switch then the water valve solenoid with an OHM meter. Next, use the meter to see if the timer is sending power (110) to the water valve.
If everything is good to this point then check the water supply. Turn the water supply off, disconnect the water line from the dishwasher water valve, run a small amount of water into a pan.
Hope this helps.
I have a Sears Kenmore
call sears service and tell them you need service there is a service flash and will be no charge
