Mine has been doing that also .... badly. It will happen over and over for up to 30-45 minutes, then it works fine. A few days later, it happens again, etc.

I finally got T-Mobile to send me a replacement. It did the same thing while I was setting it up! I'm going to try a new battery, although the one I have still holds a good charge, still looks fine and does NOT get hot.

The battery is either bad or is non compatible with your phone. Certain cell phones will only take oem batteries or take certain type of batteries that is compliant with that cell phone. Good Luck!
