There are several methods for transferring music onto your Philips GoGear Vibe, including Drag and Drop, using "Sync" in Windows Media Player, using Rhapsody, or using Philips Songbird.

Below please find step by step instructions for the "Drag and Drop" method, but you can also download and use Philips Songbird (see after Drag and Drop instructions for more information).

DRAG AND DROP:
(Attached pictures are examples only)

1. Connect your player to your PC. It will load automatically as shown in step 2.

2. Select Open device to view files.



(If the folder of your player does not appear, double click My Computer at the desktop and you will find an icon for your player. Double click that icon)


3. Select the music or picture files you want to transfer in your local directory.
(You can press and hold the Ctrl button on the keyboard to select more than one file)

4. Drag the selected files to the particular folder of your player (E.g. Music file on your player) by holding the left button of the mouse and releasing it.

Depending on your specific model (typically Philips GoGear products begin with "SA"), you can perform a Repair/Recovery which will restore your product to factory settings as well as update the firmware (and improve performance).

After performing a Repair, be sure to leave your player charging for at least 2 hours and practice a regular charging routine.

REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS:

To reset the player, please use a hard sharp object such as the tip of a ball-pen to insert the RESET hole GENTLY and then press and hold the power slider to switch on the player.

If the reset method does not help, please try Device Manager:

1. Install the Philips Device Manager and run it with your player connected to PC.
(You can download it under Software & drivers section in the product web page.)

2. Run the Device manager Software on your PC.

3. Click the Repair tab in the Device Manager, press and hold the VOL+ button on your player to perform the repair function.


4. Safely disconnect the player from your PC when the repair is completed.

5. Turn on your player.

6. Go to Settings --> Information to check the current firmware version. If the firmware is 6.28 or higher, the problem should be solved.

Your player can play video file only if its format is suitable. If you install the Philips songbird software you can convert your files with it and the player will play them after files transferred.

If your problem involves the CD to MP3 conversion process, NCH Software (http://www.nch.com.au/rip/index.html) has an Express Rip software that will help you easily accomplish this. I downloaded their trail version, which is easy and works nicely. You can select or create the output folder that you want your selections to go to. Make sure you select mp3 as your output format and then click Rip CD. Once your CD has been converted, simply find and click on the directory that your output was directed to. Highlight your selection(s) and drag them directly to your device that is plugged into the computer. It is my hope that this will resolve your problem, or at least point you in the right direction to solving it.

I have downloaded freemake.com software to download you tybe videos to my pc in flv and mpeg code. It was working fine till two days back. But now aftert pasting the url it says that no downloadable video.

From the sound of it, perhaps your laptop settings are requesting the administrator's password (your laptop password) to ensure that you (the administrator) would like to install the software?

To my knowledge, Philips Songbird will not ask for an administrator password during installation.

1...You must download and install Windows Media Player 11 on your computer.
NOTE...Some older MP3 players will not work with Windows Media Player 11 or Windows 7 with Windows Media Player 11.
If this happens to you, then you will have to uninstall Windows Media Player 11 and install Windows Media Player 10.
2...After you have downloaded and installed Media Player on your computer.
3...Open Media Player on your computer.
4...Install all your music into Media Player that you want to install on your MP3 player.
5...Plug in your MP3 player to the computer using your Data/Sync cord, be sure that Windows Media Player is on.
6...Media player should recognize the MP3 player and sync with it.
7...After it is sync'ed with the computer,you can add the music you have installed into Windows Media Player to your MP3 Player.

It seems that this device only plays one video type. Meaning that you'd first have to run all your video files through a converter, and then you can put the converted file on the device, and only then will it be able to play video files. The supported file types are wmv and smv. There might be some others that I havn't come across yet though.
Here's a download link to a converter for this device: link Simply put the output type to either SMV or WMV and convert the file. Copy the converted file to your device and it should be able to play.

Hey there, I'm assuming you want to know how to download a song. There are two ways that I can recommend.
The most legal way would be to buy the songs from a service like iTunes.
If you want to get the songs for free in slightly lower quality buy still mostly legal you can download them directly from youtube using this program, which allows you to copy youtube links into the program and it will download them to your computer, at which point you can simply move them to your MP3 player.
