I have a GE dishwasher with poor drying. One service call said to make your water hotter and us a jet dry rinse. Not any better. Another call went to GE, this time they have a vent kit to help push out the steam and the computer will be reprogrammed to allow a longer dry time. Will have this done when the parts arrive at my home. Then the repair man will install and make computer adjustments. Looks like GE knows they have a problem but won't fix it until you complain more than once and demand a fix. For all GE dishwasher owners with this problem start calling the customer service.

Sometimes the soap dispenser is blocked by a large item. It could be a casserole dish, baking pan, etc. Be very aware as you load your lower shelf so that there in nothing that will block the action of the dispenser.
To remove the white build up, run a regular cycle when the dishwasher is empty. Instead of using detergent, use 1/2 cup of white vinegar. This should break down the white scale. After the final rinse, if there is still evidence of the scale, use an old toothbrush to scrub it off.

Hello,
Sounds like the water is either off or a flood safe hose is being used. The valve is energized and water is not flowing in, that is what the humming noise is.

if this is a new dishwasher it could have some plastic caught around the drain screen from packaging or if it dumps though a disposal and the disposal is new there is a little black plug that must be removed before the water will pass through the plug has to be removed with a hammer and a screwdriver the plug is located inside where the drain hose hooks to the disposal hope this helps

If it has power but nothing is working then first check the control, if the lights are there on the control, then try to hear if the motor is running and if it does fill with water. If it fills with water and you hear a humm/buzz sound from the bottom panel then it is the motor that is bad and needs replacement. If it is completely dead then it is the main board also known as the electronic control that is bad and needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.
