Is a yamaha rx-v465 supposed to recieved both

What connection do you use?
This receiver supports both video and audio over HDMI. It has also other video inputs, but it doesn't have any video processing.
So if you connect your equipment for example to component video in, its video output will be present only on component video out (NOT on the HDMI output nor s-video output).

I get no bass sound from sub-Woofer connected to Yamaha RX-V465

Check your speaker settings in Setup menu / Speaker Setup / Manual / Config (and then in this submenu also Equalizer).
In Config, choose where should low frequency sound go - subwoofer and/or front speakers (if they are big enough). The settings are: Bass Out: SWFR/Front/Both.
Also check Subwoofer phrase in SWFR Phase.
Check settings of all speakers, they can be Large / Small / None. If small, frequencies lower than "Crossover" settings, will not be put on them.

RX-V465 output HDMI 1 will work but HDMI 2-4 won't

This receiver has only one HDMI output, but 4 HDMI inputs. If some inputs don't work, try connecting the equipment (DVD for example) to HDMI input which works with other equipment....
For the RCA (composite) video input - it won't work, because this receiver don't have any video processing circuit.
So HDMI input video goes to HDMI outout connector.
Composite (RCA) video input goes to Composite outout and no other video output.
S-video input goes only to s-video output.

I have yamaha rx-v465 receiver and yds-11 docking

I think it is not possible, because RX-V465 does not have HDMI-video processing. It can only pass-thru the HDMI video to HDMI-out, but not alter the signal in any way.
If it should support TV output with YDS-11, it will work only via analog video out (s-video / composite / component).

Haveing trouble syncing the sound with lips is

RX-V465 has auto-sync feature over HDMI. So if you have your DVD and TV connected over HDMI, receiver will communicate with your TV and set the delay automatically based on TV processing speed.
You can turn auto-sync on in Setup menu / Sound Setup / Lipsync / HDMI Auto.
Or if that doesn't work for you, you can set a value in milliseconds manually in the same submenu.

Can't see or listen to stb when changing input source and go back

Maybe the STB detects that there is nothing "listening" on the other end of HDMI and turns its output off. Does it work again if you turn off+on the STB without touching receiver?

Your PS3 probably has a setting for what digital bitstream it produces. Check it out. Dolby Digital is probably what you want.

How to install RX-V465

Hooking up the stereo to the speakers is straight forward. 2 wires each speaker. a positive and negative they go to the corresponding speaker input. As far as hooking up the tv it all depends on what kind of video connection you are using. Most likely you plug all your devices into the reciever then go from the monitor out on the receiver to the tv.

I recently bought a RX-V465 receiver and I need to

1 - As you already have it, take it out of the box and look at the back. You should be able to determine the connections from there. It is also in the owners manual.

2 - The receiver only supports 6 and 8 ohm speakers. Do not use 3 ohm speakers with it.

3 - The Yamaha website has instructions on how to check the firmware version and instruction on how to upgrade the firmware.

Let me be more specific on our problem. We

Look towards the back of the manual. You go into setup. Choose HDMI. Then there is another setting that you have to activate. The receiver must be set to the HDMI input that you want, before the receiver is turned off. I just installed my receiver last night and followed that procedure. Works great.

Why does my Yamaha HTR-6130 power down after 3 seconds?

I expect there is either a power supply issue or one of the amplifiers has failed causing over current to turn it off as a protection to the power supply.
