I can't find any details or even a picture of the rear panel but if it has a digital input attach the source of that HBO movie (cable/sat box) digitally to the Durabrand just as you would any other digital source.

If you have an ohm meter (resistance) test for 7-8 ohms across each set of speaker leads to your sub woofer. Its likely you have blown speaker (load is causing amplifier to draw to much current) or just a bad amplifier in the sub (likely not worth $ repairing vs new). To test the sub woofer speaker itself you may have to take it apart to test its resistance.

I was able to catch a glimpse of the back of this unit. I cannot tell by the picture but it is either a RJ11 connector or RJ45 Connector. RJ 11 is the connector on your landline phones and RJ45 connectors are used in computer networking applications. If you have either of these cable laying around you can verify which is which, after that if you do not want to buy the crimp tool for these connectors I would suggest sacrifice whichever cable it ends up being (RJ11 or RJ45) and splice your speaker wire to the two active leads, + and -. Instructions things you'll need:

• Composite video cable
• TV

• 1 Place the front left and right speakers on each side of the TV with the speaker labeled "Center" either above or below the TV screen. Set the rear speakers behind the seating area at head level and place the subwoofer on the floor a few inches away from the wall, which can absorb bass sounds if the sub is pressed against it.
  
• 2 Connect the plug on the end of each speaker to the jack labeled for that speaker on the back of the Durabrand receiver. The cables are permanently attached to the speakers, so each may need to be moved closer to the receiver. For example, the left front speaker connects to the jack on the receiver labeled "LF."
  
• 3 Plug the video cable from the Video OUT jack on the back of the receiver to a Video Input jack on the back of the TV.
  
• 4 Plug in the Durabrand receiver and TV to the electricity and switch on both components.
  
• 5 Press the "Input" button on the TV remote several times until the Durabrand signal displays on the screen.
  

Durabrand products are not very high quality. I suggest you go buy a universal remote for about $10 and replace it.

Question edited for clarity. Durabrand is a bargain basement brand as an own label electronics supplier for Walmart and Asda in the UK. They are made in Turkey and China and there is little to no support.
