Alpine IVA-D106 Car DVD Player Questions & Answers
What is the orange wire for?
It is normally called constant power. It needs to be connected somewhere which gets it's power directly from the battery without the ignition affecting it whether on or off.Red is called switched power and hooks up through the output of the ignition.Orange will keep the presets in memory and uses very little power and is designed so low that it will not drain your battery. All car stereos work basically the same way as that also. The aftermarket stereos such as yours,Panasonic,Pioneer etc. usually have the same basic power setups.Red switched power.Orange constant power.Black ground.Blue power antenna. The speaker wire colors usually are different between manufacturers. If you have any questions or need more help, just comment here and I will get an autolink to your post and reply ASAP.I really encourage responses so I can follow up properly as I know where you stand and asking someone else restarts all the explaining because we cannot see other 'Expert's' responses.Good luck,Greg

This is caused by a bad ground wire connection on the installation of the player. Make sure that the negative is hooked up to something metal in the dash and you should be all set :)

you may have a dirty pinch roller. if you are careful you may be able to clean it with a qtip. although, if you can get a chamois tip it would be better. you may be able to try radio shack and see if they may have rubber restorer there.
Cannot access bluetooth menu in the Alpine iva-d106
To connect the iva-d106 with the kce-400bt you need another cable
(KWE-460V), and to connect the ipod you'll need the KCE-435IV, first you connect KCE-400bt to the IVA-D106 using the KWE-460V cable, then conect the ipod to the KCE-400bt using the KCE-435IV
