Jvc kd-bt11 will not turn on

Its is definitely the extra wire, i had this problem and took it to a shop the power wire has to be ran from the battery with a fuse in between them, you can find a live wire in the dash and splice and put a fuse between them, if you dont feel confident, i would take it to a local shop i did the same thing and they installed for 40$ but i had all of the hardware and the radio was already in the dash just needed power

Car Radios

If it is an aftermarket radio check the fuse, it might be blown if it is the manufactures radio then its probably dead and needs replaced, i would also retrace the wires and make sure non are touching or have been cut somehow, once it happened to me and a wire piece was sticking threw the black tape touching a metal piece inside the dash, this is why its best not to use black tape, and also if you running a system you might just need a new radio i fired a Sony one year could never figure out why it went out took it to a shop they said the system was to much and over heated the radio...crazy.

1994 honda accord radio wont save settings.

If you have a multimeter or test light, try to find a wire that still has 12v when the key is off. Connect that wire to the yellow wire of the radio. The yellow wire has to have constant voltage going to it to maintain the memory.

Have changed headunit and also speakers..but still got my problem..plays ok till i up the volume then the headunit reboots by itself ... help please

Check the DC voltage at the Yellow and red wire to see whether it falls down when you raise the volume. If you have no meter to check, then buy a battery tester from auto parts shop. If the voltage falls down with volume, check the fuse or contacts in the fuse box.

Carnt connect bluetooth after putting in code 0000

Pin (pass key) should be 0000 (4 Zeros) or try 1111, 1234, 9999

Also, some car kits have either a random pass key (that is usually displayed on the unit) or a unique one loactad on the packaging or in the manual.

My radio turns on says its playing and can find

could be a shorted speaker. you might also want to do a hard-reset on the unit. To check for speaker short, pull the radio out and unplug the harness... Probe all the white, green, purple and gray wires if any through a ground you have a short.

Unable to play music files from mobile

Your stereo have the bluetooth connection to be used only for the headset profile (IE to making and receiving calls). To read the music from the phone you need to connect it using a USB cable and put the phone on "Memory card" or "Mass storage" USB mode.
If that doesn't work is because some phones simply can't be read with devices other than computers because they use windows drivers to enable the data access.

Sleeve seems to be too big, how do i securely fit

Hello 3134,

I'm assuming that you have the correct mounting sleeve. If not, you need the one that was delivered with the radio or an exact replacement. Also, once the receiver is inserted and locked into the sleeve, you need the appropriate "keys" to release it from the front.

There are some little metal "fingers" (tabs) that need to be gently bent inward until they securely contact the recesses built into the receiver case. The best technique is to push the tabs slightly from the outside and with one hand inside the sleeve, pull on them from the very tip. To insure that the case is centered, bend all of the tabs about an equal amount.

Hope this helps.
