Why won't my JVC KD-HDR car stereo turn on?
Has it ever worked before? If not, this could be a basic install issue. To bench test, combine red and yellow and run to 12V positive and Black to 12V negative to see if it powers up.
Why won't my JVC KDHDR50 car stereo turn on?
this could be an internal issue or a bad installation. To make sure unit work, combine both YELLOW AND RED and run to 12V positive. Black to 12V negative. If it doesnt not turn on, this is a service issue. If it does turn on, this is a installation issue.
My JVC KD-HDR50 was working
did you hard-wire the radio(wired direct to your factory wiring) or use an integration harness to your vehicle? My first thought would be the wiring. Check mainly the yellow, red and black connections. if those are intact, next look at the harnesses, Be sure they are nestled together correctly, and all the wires are secure on both ends. If they are loose on the harness side, some hot glue should help to keep the wire in place. If the nestling of the harnesses is bad. then I would say just go get a new harness for $20 and re-wire it. You may end up with more problems down the road if you keep the same one and it's faulty.
If the wiring is all intact then my assumption would me the internal radio amplifier. They can spontaneously go bad at times, and cause an on then off again effect once it cools down. Sometimes off for extended periods of times as well. if that's the case. Just go for a new unit.
Do not read USB
There may be dust inside the unit on the laser. Try shoting some compressed air in the CD drive area to clean out. Also, ensure that the CD surface is clean, and try a different factory made audio CD. Sometimes CD players have problems reading "burned" CD's.
