Eileen, There are 2 parts to bluetooth. Step 1 is pairing. You need to set the phone AND the headset to detect each other (pairing mode). The phone is the easy part - it will tell you on the screen that it is searching for the headset. The headset has a specific way to put it in detect/pair mode. Sometimes it is holding down the power button for 5 seconds or longer. When the phone detects the headset, it will ask for the password and allow you to name it. Sometimes, the phones already try the default 0000 passcodes and connect automatically. Step 2 is connecting to the bluetooth device. If you are connected and can make and receive calls, you don't need to do anything anymore. Best of luck.
