This camera can use SD or SDHC cards up to a maximum of 8GB (gigabytes). These cards come in different "class" ratings. A class 4 card will provide faster access than a class 2 card. Video cameras like faster access cards and some specify that the card should be class4 or class 8. Hi , and thank you for using FixYa.. I will like to establish for
the beginning that you are not on the Vivitar support or any other
seller ..but it is just a consulting site ..and I will try to assist
you in this matter .. For to be able to download the filmed files
from the camera you will need to install the software that came with
the camera ..For that the only issue that may be stopping you to
install it is that you do not use the right software for the operation
system you have on your computer .. keep in mind that there are
operation systems that operate on 32 bit and on 64 bit...and for to be
able to install the right software ..you need to have the one that is
suitable with the operation system into your computer ... If you
know what is the exact operation system that you have ...please let me
a comment here and I will try to link you to the right one .. anyway
..if you will not be able to install the software for teh communication
to be astabilished..the only option in case that you do not have the
driver is to use a card reader and download the videos from the card
directly ..If your laptop already has a SD card reader ...than this
will be easy ...Just insert the card and you will see the card into the
My computer folder like a removable storage device ...and when you
double click to open it ..your videos will be in there and you will be
able to copy them into computer .. Another way to do that is to
import them with the windows movie maker...Just connect the camera
...(after you install the driver from the disk ...suitable with the
operation system you use..) and import into the windows movie maker
...or better take a look into the My computer folder and see if the
card is seen from the camera directly ..like a separate drive
..removable drive .. If you are using windows 7 and the driver is
not available for this operation system ..try t install the vista one
..cause the compatibility is almost 80% and you have all chances to
make it work .. I repeat ..all you need for the communication is the
driver ..the rest can be downloaded directly ...you just look for the
camera or the card from inside ..into the My computer folder..
