Coprocessor driver for windows 7
Hi,
Try letting Windows update detect and install the coprocessor driver for you.
You may have to perform the Windows update a couple of times before the device is detected.
When you start windows update it will give you a list of software and drivers that are available, you will in the list that there are optional updates available. Check there to see if the coprocessor driver is there and install everything except for the language packs.
Hopefully this will resolve the problem for you.
Good luck.
No bios
Remove bad memory module or bad part that is causing this issue. Open the case I would start with the memory chips. Remove one power down restart. If that fixes it then then replace the memory if not more on to the next module. On and on power down and powering up for each component that your removing one by one you will find the issue that way. John
How to install xp on acer aspire m5641? always bsod
Maybe the operating system disk you have is bad if it remains on 0%.I think the AHCI is a problem are you sure it can't be changed?Remove the power cord, Remove the cover then remove the cmos battery from the motherboard. It is a shiny looking battery about the size of a nickel. You will need a flat head screw driver to pop it out. Let it sit out for about 30 minutes. Press and hold the Power Button without the power cord or cmos battery for about 30 seconds. The plug the power cord back in and try going into the bios and see if you can change the AHCI. If not just try loading the operating system without the cmos battery. If if fails again, put the cmos battery back in. I think maybe one of your memory chips is bad or one of your memory slots is bad. Try using just one of the chips in the Dimm 1 or Dimm A slot, the first slot. Retry loading the operating system and if it fails, try the other memory chip in the slot.
I have Acer m5641 desktop,& I bought Encore Gigabit pci lan card. When I install it to the Pci slot my computer is not working what should I do?? pls. help me!!
Remove the Power Cord, Open the Case and make sure you have the LAN Card pushed down in the pci slot all the way. If it is not in the slot all the way, the computer will have problems. I'm assuming you replaced your old network card with this Encore card because the old one which is built onto the motherboard stopped working, right? If not, remove the Encore Card and reboot to see if your system boots up. If it does, and when you put the Encore card back in all the way it still does not boot, then maybe you bought a card that is not compatible with your system. Maybe you bought a VGA type card and you might need a AGP type or vice versa.
My Acer Aspire desktop computer, which was working just fine before Christmas, has slowed to a crawl and everytime I open a window it stops responding. Refer to the details below and thank you in adva
Andrew, have you followed the information provided by
Microsoft for Vista and using Startup Repair?Have you tried doing a System Restore to put the system back to when it was last working fine - this should help if the problem is caused by a bad Windows Update fix or similar system change? How much memory do you have on your Acer Aspire computer - Vista needs at least 2GB to run reasonably well, more if available subject to the limit of 3.5GB for 32bit operating systems.Even though you are running Norton 360 security software - it is still possible that you may have a virus infection - all security software is only as good as the decisions made by the computer user - click on a 'bad' link on a web page and answer a security message wrongly and all bets are off!Download and burn a copy of the
free AVG Rescue CD and boot your computer from this to check that you have no virus infection(s).What is the performance like when started in Safe Mode? If it is back to how you expect, then again it suggests that something recently installed has changed things - try disabling any Startup programs - you can use the
free CCleaner utility from Piriform to help you do this by going to the Tools page then selecting Startup which will show a list of what programs are being started each boot - you can disable any of these by using the Disable button or with the mouse on the entry.
Can I install wifi card on M5641?
According to the
Acer Support web site for your desktop computer you should have one or two free PCI slots that could be used if you decide to add a wireless lan card. The alternative would be get a USB wireless adapter that wouldn't need you to open the computer case and have the advantage that you could plug the adapter in to a USB extension cable and position the wireless adapter to maximise the wireless signal.
Power button
You could pop off the power button cover and test it that way. I put a flathead screwdriver in the crack around the button and popped it off when I had this problem. Please get back to me after you've tried this
