Cav i use e recovery outside windows to restore lost or corrupt sys32 driver files on my E4024 emachine p.c.?

If your recovery partition is intact, or made recovery CDs, then yes. The machine will be returned the state it was in when it left the factory. If you have a pre-owned computer, or else the computer was not originally purchased with Windows pre-installed, the recovery partition may have been damaged or destroyed in which case the procedure will be very much more complicated and difficult and perhaps expensive.. Be sure you have copied your data to another disk and have noted any downloads yo have made so that you can replicate what you want. You might take this opportunity to test your hard drive for faukts. 18.December.2014 Acer will have the procedure on their website, and here is another version: http://www.ehow.com/how_2337743_do-emachines-system-recovery-.html

Do not know where video card is located

You have integrated or On-Board graphics which means your graphics controller is located on the mother board itself. fortunately you have a PCI-e expansion slot so you can buy a PCI-e graphics card to replace the on board graphics that is if your having graphics problems. or not if your just wanting to know where your graphics card or controller is located. Hope this helps

Erased all data and want to do a system recovery

How long has it sat at 49%? It could be that the disk is scratched. There doesn't appear to be alot of documentation on the emachines website regarding using the Recovery method. But they do have a Factory Restore method that is usually a lot less labor. See linkhttp://emachines-us.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/12869/kw/Recovery

When I turn on the computer it says boot mgr is missing. I guess I totally messed up when I tried to do a full system recovery. The discs I have are from geek squad there is tow of them.

An operating system would have been nice ?

How to Create a Windows 7 System Repair Disc:http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2083-system-repair-disc-create.html

"This will show you how to create a Windows 7 system repair disc to use to boot to the system recovery options if you don't have a Windows installation disc, can't find your

Windows installation disc, or can't access the recovery options provided by your computer manufacturer."

or

If you do not have access to either disc: Windows 7 - Repair Disc downloadhttp://neosmart.net/blog/2009/windows-7-system-repair-discs/

a) Insert the Windows 7 System Repair DVD or Installation DVD and reboot.

b) Select the correct keyboard input method and click 'Next'.

Note: If you are using the Windows7 Install DVD then at the 'Install Now' prompt (Do not pick the Install

Now option) instead choose the 'Repair your computer' option located in the lower left of the dispay.

c) The System Repair tool will search for a valid operating system and will report that "Windows found problems with your computer's startup options. Do you want to apply repairs and restart your computer?"

d) Click 'Repair and restart' and reboot again to the Windows 7 System Repair environment.

e) Click 'Next' at the keyboard selection prompt and when the 'System Recovery Options' screen appears verify that the "Use recovery tools that can help fix problems starting Windows" is selected.Note that on your Dual Boot system there now should be only one operating system listed. Click the 'Next' button.

f) Now from the menu list select the 'Command Prompt' option.

g) At the DOS prompt type the following three commands:

bootrec.exe /fixmbr

bootrec.exe /fixboot (may return an 'Eliment not found' message)

bootrec.exe /RebuildBcd

h) Close the command prompt window and click the 'Startup Repair' option.

i) The repair process may take some time, so wait until the process completes at which point you will see two messages "Windows cannot repair this computer automatically" and "Startup Repair cannot repair this computer automatically".

These messages are the result of the radical changes made by removing the other drive. Ignore the Send/Don't send options.

J) Close this message window by clicking on the X in the upper right corner of the Send/Don't send window. Next click on the 'View advanced options for system recovery and support' option and from the main menu once again click 'Startup Repair'.

This time the repair process may only that a few seconds and when prompted "Startup Repair could not detect a problem", click 'Finish' and run the 'Startup Repair' option one more time, click 'Finish', and then remove the System Repair DVD and click 'Restart'. Reboot the computer.

hope this helps

Plug the computer in and it comes on without using the on and off switch.

It sounds like the motherboard is dead, but just to be sure your power supply isn't the issue you can test it for sure with a psu tester like one of these:http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=-1&IsNodeId=1&Description=psu%20tester&bop=And&Order=REVIEWS&PageSize=20

My computer mother board is bad. I need to transfer all my information from the hard drive to a new computer. Is there a way to do this.

Just take the hard drive out of your old computer and hook it up to another computer via a usb port with a device like this:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812232002Then when you have it hooked up to your new computer via the usb port just transfer the files you need from the old computers hard drive to the new computers hard drive in windows explorer.

Had a virus called windows

If your computer was setup to restore to a previous timeline, you could try that first. If not, you could see if your antivirus and antimalware scanner will work in safemode which it may. If you have another desktop, you could remove the HD from the infected PC, plug it into the 2nd PC (that you know is clean) and run the scanners to remove the infected files. If it still won't load, pop in the Windows installation CD and choose Repair. If it still won't work, then backup the data in Safe Mode and do a clean installation. If you go this route, make sure to scan your backup data media before you use them.

Running very slow

if your machine is a year old or older, and if you have not ran any maintenance types of programs on it, it's probably very slow because of the cache files alone. try opening up your browser, i assume internet explorer or firefox. in IE, go under options/tools or tools/options and find where it talks about clearing your internet browser history files and cache files. try clearing these out. the other thing you can try is a website called pcpitstop.com, go to the top right hand side of the page and click optomize your pc, free pc scan. this scan will take a while, but it will look at your entire computer and suggest things that you need to do. things like delete files, history, duplicates, etc will all show up. recommending suggestions to fix your problems, i always say do as the computer suggests you do. this is a free scan and free solution via there website, i use it all the time. your emachine should be fixed and much better for you after these steps. i hope this helps.

If my sound went out

Sound settings need to be on the sound card settings that are default to your computer. If it is a SoundForge Card example then find the default card you have installed and this is what the settings should be on the sound card that is installed on your computer. I hope that this helped you. John

I have an eMachines ET1810-01 PC Desktop. After a

same thing happened to me with this machine -- actually, two power outages. I thought I was protected, as I run UPS and the machine should have hibernated (I know it did the first time). At any rate, after the first failure, the clock wouldn't run right, and after the second, the exact thing you describe happened.
I was within days of losing the warranty, and sent the box back. Cost $27 to ship, insured. They replaced motherboard and reformatted hard drive. It works fine now. 90-day warranty on the repair.
In short, your motherboard is toast.
