the loader does not spin
the machine will agitate and pumpout the water but it will not spin

Hi,
My washer a Kenmore 90 series, purchased in 1999, will fill with water and agitate, but then as the cycle approaches the point where it should drain and spin, it will overheat and stop. It will smell like burning rubber, and I can still hear the motor humming, but it's like it's "stuck" or something. It will start again hours later and then the same thing happens on the rinse cycle. Overall, it takes several hours to complete a load of laundry. Sears recently replaced the motor back in March, and that didn't fix the problem, although they claim that the motor they removed was "burned out" Anyway, after 2 months of it shutting down intermittently, it began to happen more frequently, and Sears came back out and refunded me for the motor replacement. So, the washer has a new motor, but still is shutting down. The model number is 110.2691269. I am wondering if it can be repaired, or should I just get a new washer.
It sounds like you have a bad timer. Your timer is basically a wheel that turn and opens and closes sets of contacts. Once these contacts go bad, they stick together. Your machine will basicall try to do a few things at once and over heat (hence the reason it works after it cools back down). A replacement timer should be availible from both your local appliance parts supplier and from the manufactures web site.

In replacing the coupling motor I had a small plastic tube come loose from the underside of the base platform of my washing machine.
Inside the small tube was a cotter pin, roughly 2 inches long made of brass.
It is flat on one side to fit through a small hole in the underside of the base near the area where the motor, gear case etc attach.
When I line the holes up, the cotter pin will go upwards through the suspension plate and the next level and leave enough room for a cotter key or ring to secure the pin. It would appear to give stability to the tub while it spins. There are three such tubes and cotter pins but no sign of any sort of cotter key or ring that might have secured it. Also the diagram of the washing machine on-line and it the owners manuel do not show any type of pin or key. It must be there for a reason as the small plastic tubes are designed to catch the pin as it falls out.
First question - Should all three pins be attached as I have described or should they simply stay unconnected in any way but inside those tubes?
If they should be attached, how should they be secured -key or ring?
Part number?
How many 'layers' do I go through before securing the cotter key?
Sears phone and parts have not been able to help in any way.
thanks in advance!
This is an easy one to solve. Those are moving pins , when in transport. When it is delivered, the delivery people simply just pull on some straps and the pins fall in the cup. You need to keep these when moving washer to put back in, so not to damage anything.

My Kenmore model # 110.28912791 90 Series washer just stopped spinning. The unit fills, agitates, and drains, but will not spin.
You have a broken lid switch. Its # ll in the diagram. Part # is 3949238. Let me know if you need info on how to replace it, Dave www.washermd.com

I have an old Kenmore 80 series washer with a sheet stuck under the agitator. How do I get it out? Why is it in under there?
remove agitator top remove 7/16 bolt to remove agitator. tub mounting hub may be worn which allows the tub to drop down. the hub is located on the center post below the agitator.

washer kenmore 80 series wont spin
Hello, I had the same problem with my Ge washer. It would fill but it wouldn't spin or drain. I contact Ge and they sent out a repair man. He took it all apart and said it was the transmission. He also said That you can unplug it and lift the lid 3 or 4 times and sometimes that will reset the machine. Hope it all works out for you

I need to replace the timer on a series 800 kenmore washer..how do i take it apart?
Fix the timer on the washer so that it fills with the correct amount of
water, and so there is the correct amount of time for each cycle. Make
sure the washer is unplugged and take off the control knobs and the
panel that lays over the knobs. The knobs could be either at the front
or back of the machine. Check the wires that link the timer to other
areas of the washer. If they are slack, push them further into place
with pliers.
Change the timer by disconnecting the old one. Make sure the new timer
is made for the brand of washer that you own. Unhook the wires to the
old timer one at a time and connect each wire to the new timer.

My washing machine was tripping circuit breaker. I cleaned out screen on inlet water valve (very clogged) and tried again. Went to parts store and replaced valve thinking solenoid was bad. Got everything back together now it agitates with filling with water and is unresponsive to switches. Also tripped breaker again.
Hi, I think the trip going is an electrical fault, DO NOT BYPASS IT, but, with power OFF AND UNPLUGED, meter both power wires to earth, (chassies) you should not get any readings. If it happens at the same point in cycle, that might narrow down the fault, i.e, every time the machiene pump emptys, its the pump/wire to it. Any doubt, get it sorted by a reliable tech guy, and good luck finding one of those!!

I am getting a F50 error during the rinse cycle - what does this mean?
Hello,
here is what the F50 error code means and what must be checked when it comes up
F50
(F50)
Motor Stalled
F then 50 flashes when the motor rotor position sensor (RPS) senses no rotation.
Does basket turn freely? If not, make sure bottom shipping pack has been removed. Determine cause of friction.
