Hi, I think the trip going is an electrical fault, DO NOT BYPASS IT, but, with power OFF AND UNPLUGED, meter both power wires to earth, (chassies) you should not get any readings. If it happens at the same point in cycle, that might narrow down the fault, i.e, every time the machiene pump emptys, its the pump/wire to it. Any doubt, get it sorted by a reliable tech guy, and good luck finding one of those!!

You'll really will need the spanner wrench for the spanner nut on the basket drive block. If you try to make a tool or use some other method, you risk injury and possibly damaging your washer basket. The spanner wrench is made by Supco, part #TB123A. It has various other part numbers from the appliance manufacturers. It is compatible with Whirlpool, Maytag, GE, and Kenmore. Most Kenmores are made by Whirlpool. If you want the wrench same day, call local appliance shops and ask if they sell the spanner for the Kenmore Series 90. I got mine from a local shop and paid $13. You can always sell it on eBay once you are done with it. It won't lose much value being used since it doesn't really wear out. You'll need a hammer too, preferably with a hard rubber head, or use a wooden mallet. If you use a steel hammer, be careful when you strike the spanner wrench to loosen the spanner nut. Wrap the steel hammer head in an old washcloth or rag. You don't want to accidentally strike the porcelain enamel lining of the basket - it will chip and that can lead to rust of the metal.

It is probably your lid switch. Use a pen to push in the switch, if you do not hear a click when depress, replace switch

Check for a failed capacitor under the control panel It is a start/run capacitor that the motor needs to start running. The motor will hum and if left will eventually burn out.

Just pry it up, only clips holding in place, try at the front, be careful for the paint

Sounds like there is something caught in the pump. You will need to open the cabinet and clear the pump out.What is the complete model number of your unit?

why is spin not working?

The usual arrangement is there are 2 electrical water inlet valves, one for Hot and 1 for Cold. These valves are turned on by the timer, and remain on until the water level switch turns them on, and allows the washer to then run. It sounds like this water level switch is bad. This switch should be in the panel above the top of the washer, and has a rubber/plastic tube that goes toward the washer drum. It is also possible that the rubber tube is off or blocked. (if the water inlet valve is stuck open, turning the washer off will NOT stop the water).Good Luck, Bill

The most common cause of this is a defective washer lid safety switch, if the washer doesn't sense the lid is closed nothing will happen other than it will fill with water, no wash cycle or spin. The lid switch is accessed by paying your washer top off with a putty knife, it is held down by friction spring clips, the lid switch is under the top, you will see it. You can obtain a replacement part from Sears Direct for about $15.00 US

Well if it won't rinse it won't pump out wither right? The pump is mounted on the motor. The motor won't pump or spin if the lid is open. I would check the lid switch

When this pump is going counterclockwise the water stays put. The machine agitates.
When time for rinse the motor goes opposite direction. If the lid is open the washer will not spin or pump out. I suspect you must have a lidswitch issue. Motor Stalled F then 50 flashes when the motor rotor position sensor (RPS) senses no rotation.
Does basket turn freely? If not, make sure bottom shipping pack has been removed. Determine cause of friction.

If this machine is new or old sometimes wash items get out of the basin and clog up the pump. This may not be the problem in your case. Let's look at the pump. Is the belt tight? Sometimes you can see into the pump ,is there something visible in the pump preventing it from turning? Is the belt worn to the point that can't turn the pump pulley? With belt off pulley ,can the pulley be turned by hand one way or the other, I mean is it seized?Check these suggestions, and get back to me with how you made out. GOOD LUCK.

Top load machines will fill with water while the lid is open. Your problem starts when you close your lid. NOTHING happens. I believe this to be your LID SWITCH . Replace or have replaced and you should be OK. GOOD LUCK.

With old washers and with new washers sometimes you have to get in there and tighten the belt or replace the belt. Open the lid, pop off the softener cup, you will find a gear that moves the agitator. It is made of plastic, or nylon. These gears tend to break sometimes. If it's not under the softener cup then unbolt the bolt under the softener cup, and lift off the agitator. You will find the gear there.
