I need to reset my new D-Link router to the

The router's admin page is http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 and the default password should be either "admin" or "password" without quotes. There should be a choice under "Setup" called "Factory Reset". That will erase the settings and reset it like new.Alternatively, you can follow the procedure as given below on all the brands I've tried (Belkin, D-Link, Linksys)1. hold the reset button for 30 seconds (don't release)2. unplug the power (still holding reset) for 10 seconds3. plug power back in (still holding reset)4. hold reset for another 30 seconds - the lights will usually begin flashing in some odd pattern5. release the reset button6. wait 1 full minute or until the lights stop flashing7. unplug the power for 10 seconds, just to do a reboot8. verify the settings (e.g. SSID) are back to the defaultsGet instant online router/wireless router support at http://www.vtechsquad.com/wireless-router-support/ to fix D-Link router/wireless router issues.

My d-link dir 615 wireless router will work fine and then just lose the signal and i have to un-plug the router and then re-plug it in again before it will work again why is this

CONTINUAL DISCONNECTION OF WIRELESS CONNECTION There are a few things that can cause you to lose wireless connection with your wireless router. 1. Weak signal strength, check the signal strength on your wireless card. If it is weak move the wireless router away from brick or concrete walls and if possible locate the wireless router higher up. 2. Have you secured your wireless router from people near your from unauthorized access? i.e. change the default password, setup encryption use WPA2 or WPA, change the default SSID, and turn off SSID broadcast, and for added protection, enable MAC address filtering which allows only the MAC address/es of your wireless card/s to connect to your wireless router. 3. You could be getting interference from electrical sources such as air conditioners, arc welders, washing machines etc. If so, the power supply to the wireless routers and computers etc should be connected to a surge protection power board, better still connect your computer equipment to an UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply). 4. Check the channels of the wireless routers and access points in your area and change the broadcast channel on your wireless router to an unused channel or one that is currently used but has the weakest signal strength. This will minimize interference with your wireless router from other wireless routers and access points in your area.

My wireless network fails several times a day -- think it is the dlink router

Did the problem occur just recently? If not you might need to upgrade your router. What is the model number of the router. Look for the model and version number of router and sign in to the User interface of the router to update the firmware if you know how to do so. If not let me know I'll walk you through it.

Link failed and flashing light

it sounds like you have locked the Router into Firmware Flash mode by incorrectly performing the reset steps which are :
To reset the router, locate the reset button (hole) on the rear panel of the unit. With the router powered on, use a
paperclip to hold the button down for 10 seconds. Release the button and the router will go through its reboot process.
Wait about 30 seconds to access the router. The default IP address is 192.168.0.1. When logging in, the username is admin and leave the password box empty.
If however, one presses and holds the Reset button while it's off, then turns it ON, then it will start the flash process and flash the power light orange.
To recover, you will need to re-flash the Router.
Here is the D-link support page to find your firmware, you will need to find the correct "version" of the 615 you have and download that file, (you will need to un-zip it,) then follow these steps :
        1. Disconnect the power cable from the router.
        2. Open a web browser and type in the URL http://192.168.0.1/ but DO NOT PRESS [enter] or the [GO] button yet.
        3. Press and HOLD the [reset] button on the router and connect the power cable. Continue to hold the [reset] button for about 10 seconds, then release.
        4. Now click inside the address bar of the browser and press [enter] or the [GO]. The "Emergency Room" Updating Firmware screen should display.
        5. Browse to and upload the DIR615_v4.11_B02.bin image file.
        6. When you see the message "IMAGE UPLOAD SUCCESS", the flash will begin to be erased and re-written.
        7. Use your browser to again connect to the router at http://192.168.0.1/ or press [F5] and refresh the page.
The Dlink setup screen should load. If not, you did something wrong. Go back and try again.
