you push the timer in and turn it to the setting you want,when you pull the timer knob out the washer should run

usually direct drive if top load,no belt has a motor coupling,send model number so i can look up your model,sears kenmore doesn't make washers,they just put the name on it,say washer starts with 110. on model,then you know whirlpool made it.

take the top fabric softener cap off,you'll see a plastic cover down inside,pull that out,remove the 7/16 inch screw out,now you can take the top section off to change the dogs or reach down,grab the bottom of the agitator buy putting your fingers under it and pull up and keep you head to the side or you can hit yourself in the face when it pops off,saw someone do this

check the lid switch,open and close the lid,you should hear a clicking sound,if not you have a broken lid switch and the washer will sit there full of water

This indicates a water problem. Make sure you have both hot and cold water turned on and running to the machine. If pressure is to low on either hot or cold you will also get this reading

Replacing the lid switch is not complicated, but you must take care in removing the console. First slide a putty knife between the console and the top on both the left and right side. What you are trying to do is push a metal clip back so that the console can be lifted from the front and tilted up. This is the part to be careful so that you don't bread the plastic clips in the back. After you have the console up, disconnect the lid switch harness to the top and there are two metal clips holding the top to the back panel. With a flat-head screw driver remove the clips. The entire cabinet is ready to be lifted off the chassis. Just lift and pull forward to remove cabinet. You then can replace the lid switch. Just re-assemble in the reverse order. good luck

Only two reasons for this. The one is that the discharge hose in the back must loop up to at least as high as the lid of the washer and the other would be if there is a problem with the timer causing the pump to operate while it is filling.

Am I understanding you correctly? Is orange liquid leaking on the floor at the base of your washer or is it leaking in the inside of the washer? If it's leaking on the inside that sounds like rust from maybe the supply hose mesh gaskets. Should be stainless mesh but stranger things have happened.

This could be caused by a couple of problems. The water level sensor could be bad so that the washer thinks it's got water in it already or the timer could be bad. If the washer starts to fill after it starts agitating then the timer would be the problem.

kind of hard to solve without more info.but it could be unlevel find a level or borrow one and place on top of washer.make sure it reads between bubble on level.check both sides on top of washer.if you hear kind of grinding noises and shifts hard it could be transmission..
