HF signal code

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too. Height of exit hose should be approx 3 feet from ground level.

Describe your 44832 \ 44834

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

FH error is displayed when the control detects no water entering the machine. To clear this error press and hold the PAUSE/CANCEL button twice. You can then check if the water inlet valve is fine and not clogged with foreign particles, try to clean it. If the water inlet valve appears to be fine then check if the pressure switch hose is properly connected to the pressure switch & tub. Please get back to me if you have any questions.

Do i need to winterize

If your unit will be in an unheated house you should. There will always be some water in the drain line and the bottom of the tub. Most of the water in the tub will evaporator so it isn't a big concern, but the water in the drain line and drain pump is.

My Kenmore front load washer

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

Based on your description...
you likely have a faulty inlet water valve, thus allowing water to enter even when idle.

The valve # is 8182862 and varies in pricing around $40 - $75...double check with your specific model number when inquiring.

It should be available at most brick and mortar appliance part locations or if you prefer on-line shopping try "searspartsdirect.com" "repairclinic.com" or "appliancepartspros.com" to name a few.

To swap out the valve simply follow these steps...

**Unplug the unit from the wall before attempting any repairs suggested here...safety first**

1) turn off the water and unfasten the hot & cold fill hoses going to the washer.

2) remove the three screws along the back of the top panel and then slide the top panel back slightly and pull up. The panel should lift away.

3) in the left rear corner ( when observing from the front of the washer )you should now see the valve.

4) remove the wires, carefully the harness has little release tabs which must be bent back slightly to pull the wire & harness off.

5) remove the hose to the dispenser assembly, a pair of pliers or vise-grips works well here.

6) remove the screw on the outside back wall of the washer and pull the valve out, voila !

Reverse order to put the new one in "voila", and good job. You potentially saved yourself $200 or more for parts and labour.

Hope this answers your question but more importantly solves your problem.

HI,
Sounds like your spindle has broke and you will have to replace the rear half of the outer tub and spin basket, this could be costly.. If you have the means, its time to replace the unit. I have done this repair and found the cost is high to the replacement cost of the unit. Before you run out a buy another unit, double check your warranty on the unit. If in warranty, you made need to have it looked at first before replacing the unit.
The last one I did cost over 600.00 to repair.
I hope this helps I’m happy to help further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/gere_bf68e6055dd61249

Wont spin final cycle

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Many makes of washers will not start the spin cycle if they sense that there is water still left in the drum- AND they don't flash lights or give any other indication!
So- just in case it is water still left (no promises, it could be something entirely different but it's worth carrying these instructions out anyway and regularly!) here are my complete, general pre-typed guidance notes for checking both the filter and the motor ;-0)
-------------------------------------

If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and most are held in by a round cover/knob.

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!

Hope the filter is the problem and good luck!

My drive belt broke.

The error is an indication a motor speed problem. You will need to check the following:

- Check the wiring harness. Verify all connections between the Drive Motor, Motor Control Unit (MCU), and Central Control Unit (CCU).

NOTE: The MCU is a circuit board located in the vicinity of the Drive Motor on the bottom rear of the washer. To access the MCU, you will need to remove the back panel of the washer.

NOTE: The CCU is the main computer for the washer and is located behind the wash tub. You will need to remove the top panel to access the CCU. This is accomplished by removing the three screws in the back of the washer that hold the top in place. Once the screws are removed, the top panel will slide back, then lift off.

- Check the Drive Motor. Perform a continuity check of the Drive Motor windings. Remove the connector plug and check across pins 1 to 2, 2 to 3, and 1 to 3. All readings should be approximately 6 ohms. HINT: You can also take this reading by removing connector 2 from the MCU and measuring across pins 1, 2 and 3. If the readings are good, this will also prove the wiring and connector good.

- Check the MCU. The connectors are numbered 1 to 3 (L to R). That is, with the MCU installed, connector 1 is on the bottom, followed by 2 in the middle, and 3 on top.

Connector 1 - is the serial communications link between the MCU and CCU and has three wires. At the opposite end, this will be the 2nd connector from the rear on the left-hand side of the CCU.
Connector 2 - is the link between the MCU and the Drive Motor. Pins 1, 2, and 3 on this connector are the Drive Motor windings. Pins 4 and 5 are for the tachometer.
Connector 3 - is the primary power connector. Pins 1 to 2 should read 120VAC with the door in the locked position. Pin 3 is ground. At the opposite end, this is the 4th connector from the right on the front of the CCU.

NOTE: All the connector pins are numbered R to L.

If your continuity readings are normal for the Drive Motor and you have verified all connectors, replace the MCU.

If any of the Drive Motor windings indicate readings higher that 6 ohms, replace the Drive Motor.

Error code F02 appearing. Not fully draining.

The fault code indicates a draining problem and the display can be cleared by pressing the Pause/Cancel button twice. Either the pump filter is blocked, the drain hose is clogged/kinked, the pressure switch is stuck in the full position, or the pump itself is not working.

Disconnect power and
remove the three screws attaching the lower front access panel to the cabinet then pull the panel down and off the cabinet. You can prop up the bottom front edge of the washer or cushion and lean it against the wall to access and remove the screws more easily.

Once the panel is off, remove the filter by turning the knob counterclockwise. Clean the filter from any debris that prevents water from draining out properly. Click on the link below for further troubleshooting should the cleaning of the filter does not resolve the problem.
